We won’t know for weeks

Autopsy results won’t be released for weeks.

Results from the examination, which usually takes three hours, will likely not be released for several weeks, Martha Weaver, spokeswoman for the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office told The Hollywood Reporter.

“Nothing will be released until everything is complete. Nothing can be reported with a pending status,” she said.

Speculation on the cause of Prince’s death is just that, speculation, Weaver said. Nothing will be known until the autopsy is complete and toxicology results come back to the office, she added.

Information regarding Prince’s medical and social history will be gathered as part of the exam, Weaver said.
