TMZ reports:

Prince’s body was discovered at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early Thursday morning.

Multiple sources connected to the singer confirmed he had passed.

The singer — full name Prince Rogers Nelson — had a medical emergency on April 15th that forced his private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois. But he appeared at a concert the next day to assure his fans he was okay. His people told TMZ he was battling the flu.

RIP, one of the best artists of my time who could easily work across many genres and never missed a beat.

      Love his songs.

He was immensely underrated on the guitar IMO. He will be missed.

One of the best Super Bowl half-times in recent memory too

No kidding…man that was good, the best I ever seen. His guitar work was phenomenal.

I read that many say that was one of the best performances ever, and not just in performances at the Super Bowl, they were talking best performance across the board.

He was the Sebastian Bach of our time. A musical genius the likes of which we will never see again. Truly a great loss for all of us.

57 is too young, given today’s medical tech. He must have had really big medical issues. Great artist.

It took me a few minutes to digest the headline before it made sense to me. RIP

I was ‘too cool’ (not cool at all) to like Prince when I was in high school – I only listened to classic rock… till my first girlfriend opened my ears up to other genres. Holy SMOKES Prince was an amazing artist, I realized after I quit being a closed minded musical moron.

    R.I.P

there was a girl in my high school that was gay and she dressed and wore her hair like Prince.

Wow, that was a quite a confession!

I was a long-time Prince fan although not totally faithful. I tried to like some of his more recent albums but just couldn’t.

But, I gotta say, I was totally blown-away by his SNL performance a year or so ago. I watched it several times, it was so awesome.

Extremely talented performer gone too soon I hope they find what caused his death

According to the news, he was a Jehovah’s Witness, so not taking meds for an ailment might have had something to do with it. He certainly changed music and gender identity. He has over 200 individual songs in his archives that he was working on over the years, so expect something in the future being released.

Wasn’t Michael Jackson also a Jehovah’s Witness? He certainly didn’t avoid medication.

I have to say…music is magical…very few musicians can evoke the kind of emotional responses that he did…I loved the way his music made me horny…the way the old Beatles did…and the Stones…oh wait…I was horny from the first day my boys dropped…Prince will be missed…
