Flint mayor: Governor’s decision to drink Flint water ‘doesn’t impress me’

Flint, MI Mayor Karen Weaver was on my radio show Monday night, and I asked her about Governor Rick Snyder’s pledge to drink that city’s water for a month.

COLMES: The governor of your state, Rick Snyder, said today that he was going to drink for a month, I guess to give people some comfort, what’s your reaction to what he said today?

DR. WEAVER: We’ve been drinking it for two years. You know we’re coming up on our two year anniversary. And we still don’t have the funds necessary to get the pipes fixed we need to fix. So drinking it for a month at his age doesn’t impress me when we have young children that have been damaged by this, that have brain damage and cognitive deficits as a result of this. We know we have people who have died of Legionnaire’s, that doesn’t impress me.

COLMES: So you’re saying it’s a stunt?

DR. WEAVER: I don’t know what it is.

Stunt or not, nothing can gloss over the crime this governor and his administration have committed against the people of Flint.

The bastards should go to jail or be hung.
