Cirque du Soleil cancels on North Carolina

North Carolina cancellations are piling up.

Performance troupe Cirque du Soleil has canceled performances in three North Carolina cities in protest over a new law banning anti-discrimination protections for gay and transgender people, the Canadian-based company announced Friday.

The entertainers join Bruce Springsteen, Ringo Starr and others who have canceled shows in the state after Gov. Pat McCrory signed HB2 into law.

“Cirque du Soleil strongly believes in diversity and equality for every individual and is opposed to discrimination in any form,” reads a statement from Cirque du Soleil. “The new HB2 legislation passed in North Carolina is an important regression to ensuring human rights for all.”

Good, people don’t wanna perform before a hateful state but I feel bad for the people who live there with no hate in their heart!

The republican controlled state legislature here in Missouri are debating putting a “religious freedom” (right to discriminate) bill up for a vote in the upcoming election where they expect a mass statewide conservative turnout..
There is also mass opposition to this bill from the chambers of commerce and the big cities like St.Louis and Kansas City who stand to lose tens of Millions of dollars lost revenue..

It is sad how they are controlling the state houses and destroying communities due to hate.

        And the economy as well..
This has the potential to cost the state/cities tens/hundreds of millions of dollars…
All for the sake of “we dont cow-down to the gay agenda here”..

Alan ran an article about this a few days ago.

More Republican congressmen and senators have been arrested in bathrooms than have transgender people.

Cirque du Soleil is a great amazing show one shouldn’t miss.

So, truly sorry for North Carolina for missing it. Well, should be a great lesson for you not to keep voting in the Repukes. Tough luck!

Looks like the only thing left to do in NC is go to a Jesus Show.

And that is the way it should be in North Carolina.

I’ve found them to be quite entertaining, both live and on film. And i like the soundtracks to most of their shows too!
