NC governor backtracks on bathroom law

Posted by | April 12, 2016 20:34 | Filed under: Good News Politics

Governor Pat McCrory has issued an executive order that softens the law.

[It] reaffirms private sector and local government rights to enact their own non-discrimination policies,” the Raleigh News & Observer reports.

“The law has led to substantial opposition from major companies, and hundreds of quantifiable lost jobs.”

However, the “most controversial part of the new law, requiring people use bathrooms of their sex at birth and not their gender identity, remains intact.”

They’ll replace all the lost jobs with bathroom monitors.

that means anyone who uses a public restroom will be ‘monitored’.

again, how do you enforce these asinine fk’n laws? there are transgender women who look more like a biological woman than some biological women. i say, the companies should should stay away until he rips that pos of sh!t as paper up.

Wasn’t this bill just put in place, they need to give it time and see how many sexual assaults by transgenders are avoided by creating this bill. Since 0 has happened before the bill, I am pretty sure this bill will lead to 0 sexual assaults.

      >> they need to give it time and see how many sexual assaults by transgenders are avoided by creating this bill.

Another article on this site documents that more Republican Senators and Congressmen have commited sex crimes in bathrooms than all transgender people combined

It almost makes me feel sorry for Republican elected leaders.

Their crazy right wing “base” forces them to choose between conservatism and morality. (And common sense!)

If they want to stay in office, they have to be conservative, not moral.

Consider the gay issue. The moral thing is to treat gays with respect, dignity and equality.

    That’s what Jesus would do.

But the Republican thing is to discriminate against them.

Pure puffery. Means nothing as far as the actual legislation is concerned.
However, it does mean the heat is working. These asshats are in the worst GOP rock-n-a-hard-place you can get: he has to choose between money and pandering to his religion. Oh me, oh my… what to do?
In the SF bay area, for years we had money marked with a stamp as “Gay Money”. It really brought the issue home. I wonder how many jebus-lovin South Carolinians would refuse to take “Gay Money”.

Gov said nothing different to their new law.
It’s still a pig even with lipstick.
So, do men who look effeminate and women who look masculine should always carry with their birth certificates just in case.?
Won’t be surprised if perverted cops start checking each person’s junk.

    • granpa.usthai April 12th, 2016 at 22:42

good ops, jybarz – which leads to the question – HTF is anybody going to know without checking out the …?

      • jybarz April 13th, 2016 at 00:07

That’s right. I’d hate to think if cops start using digital probe.

this is one crooked LYING THIEVING ‘christian’ leader that should be backtracked all the way out of the political picture.

Conservative “Christians” have a creepy fixation on all things potty.

they also have inappropriate dealings with corporate crooks behind closed doors through legislation.

Transgendered residents of North Carolina simply want to use the restroom meant for the gender with which they identify. It’s the holier-than-thou social conservatives who have perverted thoughts about the entire situation.

The North Carolina GOP governor and state legislators’ disturbing fantasies aside, which will be more uncomfortable for the people of NC:
Having a person who appears to be a man (but is genetically female) using the men’s room … or the ladies room?
    And of course, vise versa.

I suspect that the only outcome that would truly satisfy these puritanical theocrats is the criminalization of being transgender.

    • Mensa Member April 12th, 2016 at 23:16

There are 300lb tatoo’d, bearded bikers who are genetically female.

I can’t wait until they start stripping in the girls’ locker room.

File this under “I knew it”
A leading advocate and sponsor of the “religious liberty” has a bit of a problem… the state’s attorney general determined that he could pose a risk to “unsuspecting women” at the state Capitol complex.
