A Russian woman is being held on suspicion of feeding her German husband to their dog.

Svetlana Batukova, 46, is in police custody after she was found next to the bloody corpse of her husband named locally as Horst Hans Henkels on Friday.

A post mortem on Saturday revealed that the German had bled to death after being repeatedly stabbed with a kitchen knife.

Flesh from his arms had reportedly been cut off and fed to the couple’s dog, an American Staffordshire bull terrior, according to the online Periodistadigital.

The Senate is studying procedures for the impeachment, thankfully. NYT has an excellent article on her government corruption, particularly focused in the Workers Party. I can’t understand how the honorable left-wing Party it once was fell so low.

I saw an article this morning but I’d have to check which site I was on. It’s getting to be more and more interesting.

It was a much needed change, the whole country new about the government Party corruption for years now, but there was no proof of it as yet.

Gina, does Portuguese sound like Spanish? I watched Portugal’s news today and it sounded different to my ears but in print the words looked similar.

      • Gina Bousquet April 5th, 2016 at 19:40

Hi dear! It sounds totally different. The words are indeed very similar. But you have to remember Portuguese from Portugal sounds radically different from Brazilian Portuguese. I find Portugal’s accent very hard to learn and pronounce. And for some weird reason we, Portuguese speakers, understand Spanish perfectly without studying it, but they can’t understand Portuguese.

        • clemans April 5th, 2016 at 20:07

I heard it and it sounded like it had Russian sounds in it too. But everything they flashed on the bottom looked like Spanish or close.

The English are considering going it alone and the retired Brits there are worried about their British pensions. I think there was one poster whose English mother had to go back to England because her pension and health care would no longer be covered in Canada……she was in her 90’s and her only child lived in Canada. I wish I could remember who posted that.

Spanish and Portuguese have close origins in the Iberian Peninsula, the similarity is to be expected I guess. What fascinates me is the fact they can’t understand Portuguese when Spanish is so clear to us…

when I did my DNA, it came back that 3% of my DNA comes from the Iberian Peninsula. I was fascinated with Portugal since I was in what we call 3rd grade.

This is lovely. Portugal has an impressive history and such beauty.

I wonder what the husband was like to rate that treatment? Or if the wife was crazy on her own.

      • Gina Bousquet April 5th, 2016 at 19:43

Maybe he was not an easy fellow, but there are ways to respond to that besides killing, right? :) To kill and feed the dog asks for a peculiar state of mind at least. Looks like psychopathy…

        • clemans April 5th, 2016 at 20:08

I think so too, but I have seen women so beaten and abused that they snap and do crazy thngs like that, driven mad?

          • Gina Bousquet April 5th, 2016 at 20:10

Maybe, but it takes a particular frame of mind to be able to kill and feed a dog, kill and cook, kill and dismember, such kind of thing…
