Study: The more marijuana you smoke, the more you’re a loser

Posted by | April 3, 2016 13:46 | Filed under: Planet

You’re likely to be lower paid and have relationship troubles.

The study followed children from birth up to the age of 38 and found people who smoked cannabis four or more days a week over many years ended up in a lower social class than their parents.

It also found that regular and persistent users ended up with lower-paying, less skilled and less prestigious jobs than those who were not regular cannabis smokers.

Financial, work-related and relationship difficulties were further experienced by those taking the drug, which worsened as the number of years of regular cannabis use progressed.

My guess is that the same results would be found for those that drink at the same level.

Or perhaps certain legal pharmaceutical type drugs.

      • Carla Akins April 3rd, 2016 at 17:17

Life experience has shown me that those tend to be worse.

          Oh, without a doubt.

We are in the middle of a opioid epidemic that has no parallel in marijuana use.

wow I see you did smoke “some’ herb ..you seem less…..hmmm ass like…lol

          • Betsy S April 5th, 2016 at 02:16

Pot helps. Opioids kill. I’ve seen it first hand.

        • Betsy S April 5th, 2016 at 02:16

          They’re much worse, MUCH.

      >> My guess is that the same results would be found for those that drink at the same level.

Isn’t alcohol a straight-up sedative? Theoretically, that should make it worse since marijuana is more complex than that.

But it seems like alcohol is shorter lived.

The heavy dope smokers I know (and I’ve known many) seem to be affected by it around the clock. It changes their whole personality in a way that similar levels of alcohol use doesn’t.

Maybe it’s the difference between a solvent and a resin.

By definition a person who uses any mood altering drug 4 or 5 times a week would have a substance abuse problem. I would have to agree the findings would be the same across the board.

well you’re weird cos people who drink a lot are a lot more violent than those of us who smoke…. we want peace, not war. THINK ABOUT IT.

    Myth

    • Mensa Member April 3rd, 2016 at 16:40

Maybe if you smoked less dope, you could complete a whole post.

Pile off your sister…and make me

Sorry if I touched a nerve.

You asserted that I smoke. I don’t personally, but have many highly successful friends that do. So…There you have it.

rude and short sighted with prejudice.

      • cwazycajun April 4th, 2016 at 10:13

maybe if you smoked “some” herb you wouldn’t be such an ass

    • fahvel April 4th, 2016 at 03:36

      perfectly expressed

Of course, let’s not consider that those who have relationship or social skills problems might be more apt to CHOOSE to use marijuana more often. People with mental issues are statistically MORE likely to use and abuse alcohol and other drugs. As this study found: http://www.natureworldnews.com/articles/5496/20140102/people-mental-disorders-more-use-alcohol-drugs.htm

I had a brother-in-law who smoked a lot of dope and couldn’t finish a whole class, let alone complete a degree.

I figured it was his personality type.

But, he gave up dope, finished college and now has corner office in a dot.com

    • Bunya April 3rd, 2016 at 19:07

Lucky he was just smoking a plant. He could have been a heavy drinker, and trying to finish school while fighting cirrhosis of the liver it a bit is a bit tougher.

    • fahvel April 4th, 2016 at 03:35

wow, a corner office with a dot.com – how impressive when compared to a life disregarding the norm – imagine what he takes now as he approaches his corner office every day every week ……………..

    • RandyBastard April 4th, 2016 at 10:41

So you ‘had’ this brother-in-law. Did he kill himself after realizing he had a fucking corner office at a dot com? Because that’s what I’d do.

Done lost, been lost, going to be lost some more.

Drugs, alcohol or anything else taken to excess (food included) will be bad for you. There are many people who enjoy the occasional joint and are very successful in every aspect of their lives. Moderation is the key, not the substance. (BTW: I’ve never smoked a joint in my life)

  7. Betsy S April 5th, 2016 at 02:09

Really!!!!!!! a joint might kill you but have a beer. Yep. Rather have the joint, and the calm.

David Branson just might have something to say about that so called study.
