Trump collapsing in general election polls

Posted by | March 31, 2016 11:32 | Filed under: Politics

It’s getting worse for The Donald.

Trump now trails Clinton by 9 points in the HuffPost Pollster polling average and by 11.2 points in RealClearPolitics’ average — and he’s behind Bernie Sanders by even more in both. Any of these showings from Trump would be the weakest performance from a major party nominee in the past 20 years.

The trendlines for the billionaire are terrible too. Back during the waning months of 2015, he regularly came within a few points of both Clinton and Sanders. But historically, polls conducted so far in advance have been essentially meaningless.

I truly cannot wait until he loses. I predict an epic meltdown, followed by hibernation for a year or so.

Or an attempt to launch a military coup, with help from twitter.

        Somehow he’ll spin it as a win…

A combination of “I WUZ ROBBED” and “the Americans people are LOSERS”!
Even Romney had the lack of grace to say that it was because the 47% are “takers” who want “free stuff”. Imagine how someone like Trump will react.

This had to occur at some point, with more people becoming aware of how unhinged and dangerous he is, even fright wing people are scared.

    • whatthe46 March 31st, 2016 at 16:43

True. But then they’re afraid of everything.

Especially things involving black people, or Muslims, or wimmin, or icky gay people.

Only nine points? I saw someplace an election model by a respected political writer who said it could be 67-33% in a general. The GOP would get knocked down so hard they would’t get up for several cycles.

Drat, I really want Trump to get the GOP nomination.

Then on election night in November, we regulars in this forum could all raise a toast to celebrate a landslide loss by the GOP. I think we could call it “Trumpagedon”

Like many who post here I thought Herr Drumpf would be a short-timer who’d drop out as soon as the going got rough. Now that he’s gotten this far I want him to get the nomination so he can lead the gop into oblivion for the foreseeable future.

I felt all along that Trump was never a serious candidate and was never going to get the nomination. He has been doing and saying the craziest things that pop in his head for the sole purpose of helping Cruz look sane. Imagine Cruz as the ‘establishment’ candidate???

Cruz on the other hand is far far more dangerous to America and our freedoms and liberties than anyone who has ever run for office. He is a radical religious extremist who will quite quickly destroy our country by promoting a theocratic fascist government. And he makes no qualms about it for the people who are really listening to him.

Unfortunately we have Debbie Wasserman Schultz as chairman of the DNC, the DNC has not made any effort to date to counter everything Cruz and Trump have done or said, and certainly has made no effort for a country wide voter registration campaign.

Comic relief, because Trump, Cruz and Kasich are so scary and/or pathetic.

  7. spacegod March 31st, 2016 at 13:46

Trumps run is just a rich man’s bet that escalated surprisingly quickly.

  8. amersham46 March 31st, 2016 at 19:18

The GOPs best bet is to run a ticket of Bert & Ernie

When I looked at the draft of 6589 dollars, I have faith that brother of my friend was like really generating cash in his free time with his PC..oa His aunt’s neighbor has done this for only 11 months and by now repaid the loan on their home and bought a new Car.
