It seems that the entire GOP is on the wrong side of history…

And in my opinion, they’ve been on the wrong side of history since Eisenhower.
Some would argue it goes back further than that.

Where did they go wrong. I believe it started with “GOD REAGAN” and has gone straight down the Toilet ever since.

great meme there KAB. I would suggest that the next time some right winger starts blabbering about Democrats being founding members of the Ku Klux Klan over a century ago, we should reply with a link to the actual 1956 GOP Platform which states among other things
        ———————————————————-
        District of Columbia.

We favor self-government, national suffrage and representation in the Congress of the United States for residents of the District of Columbia.

        Equal Rights.

We recommend to Congress the submission of a constitutional amendment providing equal rights for men and women.

        Health, Education and Welfare

The Republican Party believes that the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of the people is as important as their economic health. It will continue to support this conviction with vigorous action.

Republican action created the Department of Health, Education and Welfare as the first new Federal department in 40 years, to raise the continuing consideration of these problems for the first time to the highest council of Government, the President’s Cabinet.
        ———————————————————————-

The point to be made is that we support the Democratic party and Democrats are what the GOP used to be.

That’s why I stay away from the terms “Democrat” and “republican” when talking with teabaggers. I remember very clearly in 1964 where all the Klan bigots and racists went when LBJ passed the civil rights act. It’s better to use the term conservatives rather than Democrats when referring to anything prior to 1964 because that’s where the Klan was before they all found a home for their hate as republicans.

also from the 1956 GOP platform.

no wonder so many people liked Ike

“”””Our great President Dwight D. Eisenhower has counseled us further: “In all those things which deal with people, be liberal, be human. In all those things which deal with people’s money, or their economy, or their form of government, be conservative.”””

Didn’t we have a 50 year embargo on Cuba because of civil rights abuses? Those States that willfully enact laws designed to discriminate and deny people civil rights should be treated the same way the world treats Country’s who violate human and civil rights. Economic embargoes and travel bans to rogue states like NC, TN GA and TX are very reasonable actions to take.
Why should we be forced to see our tax dollars go to prop up their economy when they will deny many people from even using the bathroom?
