Not sure what to think about this…
R’s are set to lose the general in a big way and the party is headed down a black hole come Nov …so why set a precedent like this, I’m not seeing the win here.

  2. mistlesuede March 14th, 2016 at 23:21

“the effort will be aimed at Democratic senators and candidates in ten states, including battlegrounds such as Colorado, Ohio, New Hampshire, Nevada and Florida.”

And what is this supposed to accomplish? The President is most likely going to make his nomination in the next few days. It is the middle of March. It is eight months until another election. This BS from the right is only to ramp up more hate. It in no way makes any sense as to our the government works. Polling shows that the American people want PO to do his job on this and they want the job filled.

Are we still playing “Spot the Typo?” Because i spotted one.

      • mistlesuede March 14th, 2016 at 23:41

        Oopsie. Fixing it now. Thanks.

        • MagnaDave March 14th, 2016 at 23:42

          You’re welcome.

John Oliver is on Colbert tonight.

          • mistlesuede March 14th, 2016 at 23:45

I just turned the show on. I missed the very beginning. When there is a commercial on I will rewind and see what he did.

            • MagnaDave March 14th, 2016 at 23:48

              :-)

              • mistlesuede March 15th, 2016 at 00:01

I think Colbert caught some plague from everyone kissing him.

                • MagnaDave March 15th, 2016 at 00:08

LOL. Maybe not. He seems to have a limitless supply of Purell. Good thing since John Oliver used about a gallon of it before he sat down.

                • MagnaDave March 15th, 2016 at 00:22

Did you edit this comment? I only replied to the half I saw, lol.

I think the first two counteract any possible bad effects from the third.

                  • mistlesuede March 15th, 2016 at 00:41

Yes! I didn’t know if you’d understand what I meant, so I added the kissers names. I think you up-voted it while I was editing.

                    • MagnaDave March 15th, 2016 at 00:48

Do I see a typo? ;-) Do the kissers own their names? I think they do.

                      How cute am I?

Well, as you’ve already noticed, I’m getting tired. It’s been so much fun tonight! Thank you! I hope to see you again soon. XO

                    • mistlesuede March 15th, 2016 at 00:55

I looked at that damn word for a while and finally said “f**k it” and left it the way it was! Now I have to fix it. Rrrr.
                      I am tired tonight too.
                      TTYL. Behave yourself.

Apparently I am, from the prize money he paid me. :)

                    • whatthe46 March 15th, 2016 at 01:04

yeah. hirightnow is correct. you two need a room. LOL

                    • MagnaDave March 15th, 2016 at 01:25

We’re working on that. Care to join us? The room would be cheaper that way.

How sad is it that that matters to me?

The typos thing is an inside joke. We both try so hard not to make any that we rejoice when we find each other’s.’

                    • MagnaDave March 15th, 2016 at 21:00

                      Oh, my… :-(

This is so upsetting on so many levels. WHAT HAVE I DONE (he asks himself, rhetorically)?

There must be a way out of this. I mean back into this.

OK, after giving this some thought, I’ve narrowed my options:

Option 1: I can edit my previous comment, removing the naughty bits, and then ask you what you are talking about.

However, that would be emulating a tactic of my arch nemesis (or is it
“arch-nemesis?”). But, after spending so much time differentiating myself from him, I’m reluctant to choose that one. Besides, like him, you may have already taken screenshots of my comments, and that would thwart that diabolical plan.

Option 2: I could plead temporary insanity.

This option is viable because there is no shortage of people who would testify to having questioned my sanity on one, several, or numerous occasions. So, they would probably vouch “for” me on that.

Option 3: (The one that I like the best.) I assert that I meant to invite her merely as a spectator and/or a referee (and to save you on the cost of the room). Since the referee option and the cost savings might both benefit you, I can’t see how you would argue against this option.

So, lets just ignore the first two options and go with the last one.

OK, now on to ground on which I feel more confident

After my initial panic subsided over possibly having made a grammatical mistake, I now feel fairly certain that I was correct. I am guessing that you are saying that I should have typed “each others'” because there are two of us playing The Typo Finding Game. Thus, you are thinking that we are plural but, as I will detail in depth below, I feel that the word “other” remains singular (just like me, sigh).

I was referring to “each other’s” [typos]. My feeling, as I hinted at in my teaser above, is that “other” is singular. I also feel confident that “each” ensures that “other” is singular because both words are singular so “each other” must be doubly singular. So, I stand by my apostrophe placement. Maybe whatthe46 can add punctuation refereeing to her duties. I’m assuming that she is a she, of course (and your room arrangement objection seems to confirm my hypothesis). If not, my previous invitation is rescinded and, thusly (I didn’t want to use the word “thus” again, and, yes, Spell-Check, that IS a word and it IS spelled correctly), your objection is mute. I’m referring, of course, to the room arrangement objection, not the apostraphal (a word I just invented to suit this situation) arrangement objection.

However, if “doubly singular” is akin to a double negative, in that it actually says the opposite of what the speaker intends, causing “each other’s” to become plural, you win this round.

DISCLAIMER: The above has been proofread for grammatical and punctuational errors (and a multitude have been corrected) but not for errors of logic.

DISCLAIMER II: The above thesis was intended to be both clever and funny but, upon proofreading, the author realizes that it could, depending on one’s point of view, be misconstrued as the ravings of a lunatic. If such is the case, please default to Option 2 regarding the room arrangement objection counterargument.

                    • mistlesuede March 15th, 2016 at 22:17

No options. No disclaimers. No spectators. No me.

And unless I have dirt on my screen that does not rub off, or you have suddenly suffered a severe loss in eyesight to go along with your severe loss in intelligent thinking regarding that open invitation, this does not make sense to me:

                      other’s.’

Apparently it is not dirt because I was able to copy and paste it.

                      Good day to you Sir.

                    • MagnaDave March 15th, 2016 at 22:33

HA! You fell into my trap!

That entire thesis was designed to confuse and tire you to the point where you would forget to place a comma between “you” and “Sir.”

That is what is known in the chess world as “CHECKMATE!”

Feel free to take my extraneous apostrophe, lower its altitude, tilt it approximately 10 degrees to the right, and use it as a comma if you are unable to find one of your own.

It’s odd: I keep refreshing the page and I don’t see any additional upvotes for my time-consuming effort.

                      Must be a Disqus glitch.

Am I misinterpreting what’s going on here? My long comment earlier was meant to be a joke at my expense. I was trying to make myself look ridiculous. If it seemed otherwise, I’m very, very sorry.

Thomas woke up and asked a question after Scalia died, he was in a fog.

  7. liberalMD March 15th, 2016 at 02:16

May I suggest the same group of thugs that met in the Caucus Room on 01/20/2008? After all, they have done a very good job of not getting anything accomplished over the past seven years and it would remind voters right before the Presidential election what low-life slime bags the Republicans really are.

  8. Suzanne McFly March 15th, 2016 at 07:19

You would think by looking at the political landscape, the republicans would realize everything they have been doing the last 7 years has not benefited them. Donald Trump is leading their party in the race for their Presidential candidate, if that isn’t a wake up call I don’t know what is. A person with critical thinking skills would figure they would need to change what they have been doing in order for them to survive. Instead, they are making the hole on their Titanic bigger, they have so much hate for the current President they don’t care if they die as long as they take away some power he currently has.

    • Hirightnow March 15th, 2016 at 09:12

      In for a penny…

      • Suzanne McFly March 15th, 2016 at 14:16

Not sure what your point is,but it seems like you think they are at the point where they have nothing to lose? The end of a party is a big problem IMO and as a flaming liberal, I want two parties. Multiple parties provide an important asset to our check and balance system.

        • tracey marie March 15th, 2016 at 14:21

In for a penny, in for a pound…a saying that means going for the whole deal no matter how bad or good it is.

          • Suzanne McFly March 15th, 2016 at 14:26

Well I hope they will acknowledge their disastrous decisions after this election, it seems they are in a dive and they refuse every time they are offered help.

            • tracey marie March 15th, 2016 at 14:53

Of course they won’t ask for help, they will blame Obama and the Dems for dirty tricks and lies.

              • Suzanne McFly March 15th, 2016 at 15:39

So they will go down in flames, how pathetic. It was once a great party that addressed serious positions in our government, now they have become ideologues and if you don’t follow their playbook, you are the enemy.

                • tracey marie March 15th, 2016 at 16:03

They are the teabagger party, nothing more.

    • Dwendt44 March 15th, 2016 at 11:39

The obvious problem: “A person with critical thinking skills” is needed over there.

      • Suzanne McFly March 15th, 2016 at 14:22

Well a person with critical thinking skills is not going to support their message, so I guess they are out of luck.
