I still like Bernie, but I gotta say – I don’t understand why he isn’t getting more heat for his ‘Ghetto’ flub in the debates. The comment hit me like a slap in the face, but there hasn’t been much press on it. To me, that kind of race tone-deafness is more trouble for him than his gun stuff.
hah, I wouldn’t go so far as to say it shows a belief in ‘white supremacy’ – it’s more similar to Hillary’s defense of her slowness to recognize the importance of marriage equality:

Now, I don’t know about you – but I attended (non state sanctioned) same sex marriages in the ’90s and all of my liberal friends supported same sex marriage. But I don’t think Hillary’s comments meant she was a ‘Gawd hates fags’ type person any more than I think Bernie’s comments make him a white supremacist.
I think they both have demonstrated areas of tone deafness, though not enough on either part for either of them to be disqualified from my support.
For lack of a better phrase I used that. He does believe they are children and incapable of fighting for themselves, he uses minorities to bolster his own ego. Hillary changed her beliefs because she listened and understood, bernie believes minority issues are his to exploit an sy “look at me”
I have seen discussion of it in the small amount of MSM I am able to tolerate. Chris Hayes had a discussion about it on his show last night.
I cringed when Sanders said that word. I knew it was a mistake the second it happened. The man has not a racist bone in his body, but he blew it on that.
Race tone deafness and racism are quite different.
Bernie’s a white guy from a white state and probably has little contact with minorities. Big deal…But this is also a man that didn’t just march on the front lines of the civil rights movement, he played a leadership role in groups like CORE and SNCC. This guy took the fight to the streets as far back as 1963 and faced off against Chicago cops and their dogs…

I dumped out the flyer telling me about the swell bag I’d get, and returned the POSTAGE PAID envelope with a three page letter written on the heaviest stock I could find.
