I agree with them, however I see Cruz as a bigger danger.
    Just sayin’

In his defense, he was born in Calgary. That’s in southern Alberta.

Where were these jokers when a bunch of right wing chickenhawks were swiftboating John Kerry?

I am no fan of Donald Trump. But I am even less of a fan of these partisan hypocrites.

I agree, but think it goes further than that.
All my life I have known Medal of Honor winners and other highly decorated veterans whose deeds of valor on the battlefield can be found in history books. One of the things I have always liked about the Congressional Medal of Honor Society is they recognize that having that medal carries with it certain responsibilities, one of which is avoiding using their status to advance a political agenda.
It is a very different thing when MOH recipients like Bob Kerry or Daniel Inoue would speak out on an issue, because they were elected public officials and they did not use their status to make political points.
We never saw Jim Webb or David Hackworth do that, either.
Their experience on the battlefield obviously gives them an authoritative perspective and they should be listened to whether we agree or disagree with them, but I do not recall any of them trying to dine out on their heroism (there have been a few exceptions, but not these guys).
I think keeping it this way is preferable, even if I happen to agree with what one of these highly decorated vets has to say.

Well republican supporters care about the vets as much as they care about babies once they are out of the womb.

My position on Trump solidified shortly after he announced. I thought to myself. Maybe he will run on a platform of infrastructure. Maybe he’ll stand up and say “I’m not really a politician, but I know how to build things and I’m going to get busy with infrastructure”. I thought, hey this guy could be like Ike and his interstate idea. I also remembered that the infrastructure built after WWII has paid for itself. Those were my thoughts.
BUT…..Drumpf went immediately to work attacking Senator McCain.
Full disclosure. I am not a fan of Senator McCain and his politics…..BUT
I am a huge fan of Commander McCain and his conduct during the Viet Nam war.
Commander McCain piloted the diminutive A-4 Skyhawk into the jaws of enemy anti aircraft fire. The A-4, as I recall is the only carrier aircraft that is so small, the wings don’t fold.
Commander McCain was shot down. He survived ejection, capture and more than five years of unspeakable torture, confinement and brutality. He never lost faith in his country, his mission and his fellow prisoners. He declined early release because like all good Naval Officers, he couldn’t leave his men behind.
I am a veteran of 20 years of Naval aviation I consider Commander McCain to be a role model and the very best example of what Naval aviation is all about.
When a spoiled, draft dodging, country club millionaire calls a decorated veteran a “loser” because he was shot down, I cannot even consider anyone that vile and repulsive to be an American, much less a candidate for president.
