OK turkey wattles……HOW can the party drop him if he is the choice???

    • Hirightnow February 27th, 2016 at 13:22

Don’t worry; this is the party of rugged individualism! The RNC will tell them what to think.

  2. Larry Schmitt February 27th, 2016 at 13:06

Come on, Mitch, tell us how that will happen. I agree with Leavitt, there’s no method to pick someone other than the one with the most delegates.

  3. nola878 February 27th, 2016 at 13:08

Your party built it, Yertle. You own it. You sowed the wind, now you’re reaping the whirlwind.

  4. Hirightnow February 27th, 2016 at 13:13

Aww, Mitch…whatchya gonna do? Go away and hold your own election, with blackjack, and hookers?

  5. Gina Bousquet February 27th, 2016 at 13:15

Trump spells D-i-s-a-s-t-e-r. There’s nothing the GOP can do now.

  6. Pharisee February 27th, 2016 at 13:21

The mistake the GOP is making is defining their “party” as a few politicians instead of all the voters that got them there. This would be a good time to switch to independent or Democrat. It is the only way the GOP will get the message.

  7. hurricanepaul February 27th, 2016 at 13:22

Leaders from BOTH of the established parties are scared to death that they have LOST their grip on DC.
President Trump is going to clean house.
Many government “workers” will be FIRED, starting with the Department of Education.
I am enjoying the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC stuttering and stammering as they talk about the possibility of Hillary Clinton having to face Donald Trump in the General Election.
They talk about “Hillary will crush Trump in a General”, while in the back rooms, they privately talk about Trump crushing Hillary.

What’s the weather like, there in your own little world?

      • hurricanepaul February 27th, 2016 at 14:10

        How’s the weather in Chicago?

** Chicago city pension funds lost millions on deals with Daley nephew, Obama pal **

        • Larry Schmitt February 27th, 2016 at 14:11

And that has exactly what to do with this story?

          • hurricanepaul February 27th, 2016 at 14:13

I was asked: “how’s the weather” and I replied with a weather story

            • Larry Schmitt February 27th, 2016 at 14:16

Just can’t carry on an intelligent conversation with someone who thinks like a four-year-old.

Your fighting a losing battle, your the only one with wits.

Notice the HUGE increase in Republican turnout since 2008
                https://twitter.com/FoxNews/status/703716949944041472/photo/1

The increase is all due to Donald Trump entering the race.

No way can the Democrats find MORE voters to stop Trump from becoming our next president

                No way.

                • Larry Schmitt February 27th, 2016 at 18:51

And you can guarantee that the same number will turn out this time, and that they will all vote for tRump if he’s the nominee. In that case, why bother wasting money on an election, let’s just have the coronation now.

                • Richard Banville February 27th, 2016 at 22:54

It’s South Carolina. Almost everybody expects the Republicans to win South Carolina: it’s one of the reddest of red states. In fact, if Clinton even comes close in SC, it will be a 40+ state Democratic landslide we haven’t seen since 1964.

          • hurricanepaul February 27th, 2016 at 14:16

And what did the question to me, asking how the weather was, have anything to do with the story?

            • Larry Schmitt February 27th, 2016 at 14:16

              Ever heard of a metaphor?

    • Larry Schmitt February 27th, 2016 at 13:38

So you have a tiny hidden camera, showing you what goes on in those “back rooms?”

    • Richard Banville February 27th, 2016 at 19:25

It’s no wonder that you’re opposed to education…

  8. hurricanepaul February 27th, 2016 at 13:24

And the Democrats who say “Donald Trump is not a conservative” thinking that will get conservatives to turn against him – how’s that strategy working for them?
    LOL LOL LOL

  9. maggie February 27th, 2016 at 13:33

great he will run as an independent ;)

    • Hirightnow February 27th, 2016 at 13:36

About time the Republicans got Nadered.

      • maggie February 27th, 2016 at 13:37

        I agree ;)

      • mea_mark February 27th, 2016 at 15:27

I hope so. Then we can we can have an honest to goodness four way race. RNC candidate, tRump, DNC candidate, and Jill Stein. If Hillary gets the nom and Sanders supporters join the Green party, Stein has a real shot at winning and being the first female president. What a shocker outcome that would be.

  10. Tommie February 27th, 2016 at 14:03

I will believe it when I see it but I do believe Trump will go independent!

  11. KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker February 27th, 2016 at 14:05

This is what the republicans actually think of their voting base.
It’s more proof that they only represent the wealthy donor class and the Kochs,
They only use their redneck rube base as puppets as they implement policies for the rich.

    • Homosexual February 27th, 2016 at 14:31

After this cycle, will the wealthy donor class and the Kochs abandon the redneck rube base? I hope so!

      • Richard Banville February 27th, 2016 at 19:23

They can’t afford to do that. You can’t win elections with 1% of the vote.

        • Homosexual February 27th, 2016 at 20:27

they would only do it with a socially liberal agenda with which they can pickoff democrats who aren’t 100% socialist

          • Richard Banville February 27th, 2016 at 22:42

I don’t know any Democrats who are 100% socialist. Even Bernie Sanders isn’t 100% socialist. You’re setting up.an obvious straw man.

And you’ll never see the Republicans run a socially liberal platform. Their base is the viciously angry racist misogynistic homophobic xenophobic white mob. They can’t afford to lose those voters. All they would have left are the wealthy plutocrats, and their numbers are in the low single digits.

  12. Frank Foster February 27th, 2016 at 15:01

Don’t buy it, this turkey necked freak will be lining up to kiss Trump’s ___ when he gets the nomination.

  13. oldfart February 27th, 2016 at 15:08

“we will make him a NO term president” perhaps ???
Go ahead and p*ss him off so he’ll go third party candidate
rogue on all of your collectives asses.
You all so desperately deserve it.

  14. Hirightnow February 27th, 2016 at 15:33

    I feel ya, honestly.
But when it comes down to brass tacks, I’ll take an “establishment” Dem over almost any flavor of Repub.

    • mea_mark February 27th, 2016 at 16:46

If we don’t break the cycle of settling for less and going with the establishment, when will we ever really get what we want and need, equality and fairness? We’re not going to get it if don’t ask for it and demand it. It’s getting pretty obvious that the establishment is bought and paid for. Change is not easy and we’re not going to get it unless we work for it and demand it.

      • Hirightnow February 27th, 2016 at 17:13

Agreed, but Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Just keep voting in more progressive candidates, who push more progressive stances on the important issues, and soon enough there won’t be any “establishment”.

      • Richard Banville February 27th, 2016 at 22:48

We did pretty well with eight years of Obama, who is a moderate centrist by instinct but who could be mildly liberal on his best days. We certainly didn’t go backwards, though probably not as far forwards and as quickly as many of us would have liked.

I’m of the view that incremental change is the best we can hope for in this political climate.

      • Ian February 28th, 2016 at 04:07

Fair point. I’ve always advocated the “least worst” choice option. The trouble with going the principled “my way or the highway” & staying home if it’s not your preferred candidate is that you risk getting locked out.

Is win first then make incremental change a fair substitute?

        • mea_mark February 28th, 2016 at 10:59

Jill Stein, in this case, is where my vote is going if Sanders loses. There is no sitting out and not voting. I am simply going to vote for the person whose platform is the best. Stein’s chances of winning are remote but it sends a message to the establishment that this is what I want and this is what we need.

  15. robert February 27th, 2016 at 17:21

As you were saying Mitch, i think ‘ we ‘ better figure a way out of this first

  16. amersham46 February 27th, 2016 at 19:09

Republicans againts Trump , will leave lots of room for Tea Baggers to step up and fill the right wing void , as nutty as it is getting

  17. mistlesuede February 27th, 2016 at 23:14

Mitch McChinless has been making a lot of empty threats lately.

  18. Mike February 28th, 2016 at 12:27

So what’s the plan…??? Kick Trump out of the party and back Rubio…???
If it’s a given that Hill beats Trump nationally wouldn’t a 3 way race just give her a plurality if not an outright majority…
The R’s are doomed this time around, it’s hysterical to see them attempt to stop the bleeding.
