Surely he’s saved enough on grazing fees to be able to afford his own attorney.

    • allison1050 February 13th, 2016 at 17:42

      One would think so.

  2. TiredOldGuy February 13th, 2016 at 15:09

That is almost too funny! By the time the Govt. is finished with him and he’s out of prison he’ll be trying to survive on Social Security.

    • Larry Schmitt February 13th, 2016 at 15:44

Thinking the same thing. Think he’ll send the money back?

    • Jack E Raynbeau February 13th, 2016 at 16:12

I doubt he’ll ever see another SS payment.

      • TiredOldGuy February 13th, 2016 at 16:23

Can you receive SS payments while in prison?

        • Larry Schmitt February 13th, 2016 at 16:33

Nope. From the SS web site:
We will suspend your Social Security benefits if you are confined to a jail, prison or other penal institution for more than 30 continuous days due to a criminal conviction. Although you can’t get monthly Social Security benefits while you are confined, we will continue to pay benefits to your dependent spouse or children as long as they remain eligible.

If you get SSI, we will stop your payments after you are imprisoned for a month.

          • TiredOldGuy February 13th, 2016 at 16:40

            Thanks.
Since so many of those militia-types seem to depend on SSI, this will probably be a real kick in the a**.

            • Larry Schmitt February 13th, 2016 at 16:49

And I guarantee you none of them is aware of this.

        • Jack E Raynbeau February 13th, 2016 at 17:24

          No.

    • granpa.usthai February 14th, 2016 at 01:33

if they ever open the prison doors to let this violent white racist terrorist out, they might as well leave the doors open for everybody else too.

The charges against him sound like music to my ears.

    • TiredOldGuy February 13th, 2016 at 15:18

Karma does have a sweet tune to it.

      • Gina Bousquet February 13th, 2016 at 15:29

        Absolutely! :)

Has probably spread his property among those children that are NOT in jail and his wife. He must now rely on court appointed federal defense attorney. If donations to his cause come to an amount he can afford other legal representation he will then drop the federal defense attorney.

Grifter Bundy’s ‘ranch’ totals a mere 1/2 mile by 1/2 mile. They grow melons on their own land. The Bundy family has owned its ranch since the 1870s. The ranch is only about 160 acres. the length of one side of the 160 acres would be: 206.7 x 12.649 = 2639 feet

I’ll go 10 cents a head on his kows.
plus a dollar for his kowboy hat seeing as to how he won’t be needing it anymore.

      • granpa.usthai February 14th, 2016 at 01:31

2 cents a head on the melons.

for the deeds to be legal, they’ll have to have a date and be recorded in his local district.

“U.S. Magistrate Judge Janice M. Stewart directed Bundy to present a financial affidavit to the court.” Grifter Bundy replied; ‘Mam all I gots are these magic Juju beans, alfalfa hay bail bills, and a get out of jail FREE card from the Koch Brothers deeding me that there bird sanctuary! Can’t I go free now?’
Judge Stewart: ‘No bail. Lock him up’. Call the Koch Bros appointed Attorney.’

    • Larry Schmitt February 13th, 2016 at 16:49

In my mind I’m seeing Judge Judy telling him, “Don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining. No bail. Next case!”

  6. arc99 February 13th, 2016 at 15:53

Bundy will be tried in federal court which means that any expense of providing him with legal counsel will be paid for by federal taxpayers.

This deadbeat right winger looking for free stuff is taking money out of the pockets of every American taxpayer.

So the next time some right winger starts whining about his tax dollars being used for purposes he does not approve of, my response will be to provide a link to this article, and tell him to STFU.
