I’ve been telling them that for years. Countless former members (me included) have taken the time to respond to NRA mailers inviting us back as follows.
    Dear NRA;
There was a time when poachers, criminals and persons who endorsed gun violence were not welcomed by the NRA.
As a veteran I am appalled that a draft dodger who prances up and down on a stage while carrying a rifle and advocating violence toward our duly elected President has a seat on your board.
Please feel free to contact me again, when and if you stop being a lobby group, and repository for gun toting criminals and return to your roots as an organization of sportsmen who care about safe and responsible gun ownership.

He is to be removed from the low-level Board. And then, elevated to His Highest Wizard of Weaponry……… a life-long appointment.

BearingArms.com editor Bob Owens wrote that NRA members are “simply done with Nugent… they’re tired of feeling that they have to defend his half-baked rhetoric and simple-minded outbursts.”

“The NRA’s only statement on the matter was that “individual members do not speak for the NRA.”

Stop being the battered spouse. This is when most people would realize they are being used and abused, Walk away.

Could expand that diagnosis to rump voters as well.

Oh, so it was ok as long as he was just a racist?

First thing that came to my mind too.

The NRA’s only statement on the matter was that “individual members do not speak for the NRA.”

He’s not just an individual member, he is a board member.

Tom Selleck (whose work I have always enjoyed, and who gives the impression of being a sane individual) should be called to task for continuing to be on the same board as Nugent without publicly denouncing him. Does he agree with Nugent? Does he consider Nugent an appropriate representative for this organization? I’m sure his many fans and business associates would be very interested to understand his position.

One can certainly support the second amendment without serving on a board of directors with an anti-Semite.

    The National Review agrees:

The NRA needs Ted Nugent , he panders to the wingnut bloc in the NRA

I don’t know, having a crappy pants pedophile draft dodger lends an air of ‘low class’ to the whole organization.
It also defects from Wayne LePew’s mental condition draft deferment.

I think stinky pants should not be just fired, he should be shot by a firing squad for being stupid, obnoxious, bigoted and, most of all, total lack of hygiene.
