They didn’t need an informant. Ammon Bundy went into town several times to meet with the county sheriff and FBI and made unreasonable demands. Nothing was hidden. Hell, they posted youtube videos every day.

On the one hand -too many little buddies working at the same time in an enclosed area could create a long term hearing loss? – but that may be what it takes to defeat ARMED WHITE RACIST TERRORISM. I say lock up the whole bunch for DOMESTIC TERRORISM. If they can’t hear what the judge says at their sentencing, at least their lawyers can make ’em feel good by tossing out a pack of AAA batteries.

I think the feds played a good long game on them. I see why it took a little time. They let them become comfortable coming and going. They advised the locals not to allow them to use any facilities to hold meetings. They arranged a meeting 100 miles away. The Bundy dolts were stupid enough to take five top leaders and drive way out into the wilderness, where they were apprehended by about forty agents from three agencies. Strategy was not one of their strong suits, and their paranoia was wildly misdirected. Finicum was delusional enough to try and shoot it out. I’m sure that lasted all of ten seconds. The others were damn lucky they weren’t in the line of fire.
