Awesome, maybe the open carry nuts will forget where they left their guns

Sounds like republicans are just trying to find a reason to let people out of prison that they can’t afford. With oil prices so low the Texas economy is heading for a possible crash. Especially if Abbott refuses to expand medicaid and loses all those federal dollars. Incarcerating people is expensive and a real drain on the economy. Texas simply can’t afford that right now.

What are they going to do with all those weed smokers cluttering up the jails and which the state is making money off of

I can’t believe what I’m reading. Not The Onion? CBS News? Really? Texas? Will the sun come up in the west tomorrow? It would stem the flow of retirees leaving for Colorado, Washington and Oregon and maybe make the ammosexuals chill out a little bit.

Maybe they would finally chill out.

“I don’t believe that when God made marijuana he made a mistake that government needs to fix.”
    1) I thought God doesn’t make mistakes?
    2) Doesn’t God make the poppy plants used to make heroin and other opiates like morphine? I like the idea of making recreational marijuana legal, but I don’t think these types of drugs should be legalized because God makes them.

He just made the poppy…not the heroin ( originally synthesized by C. R. Alder Wright in 1874) or morphine (1805 by Friedrich Sertürner) …Opium, on the other hand, has been around for ages so I think we can blame god
To me, arguing for the legality of those drugs (heroin, morphine) would be like asking us to do away with pharmacies…dangerous drugs need to be regulated, whether they get you high or not.

I could be wrong, but I think big pharma wanted to outlaw marijuana in the first place because they couldn’t regulate it, since people were growing it in their basements (like my brother) and in their back yards.

Sure they want to outlaw it…unless it’s in pill form and prescribed at the cost of $7.25 a pill…
I think the battle for the plant’s freedom is coming to an end though…
The war against weed has been an exercise in futility, we’re beyond the ability to control who grows, buys, uses, or sells, pot.

Some of the biggest reasons behind outlawing hemp – racism, racism, and racism. At the time of the great hysteria (Reefer Madness, anyone?) it was associated with “undesirables” like Mexicans and Jazz Musicians, and so was a threat to pure white culture…

Interesting side note on heroin – Heroin was a brand name by the Bayer company, based on the German word for heroic or strong.

    Far out, man.
