Neil Sigurd Wampler (center, green coat), 68, is among the protesters taking part in the armed occupation at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge outside Burns. Here is pictured here behind Ammon Bundy, who is speaking at a morning news conference. According to court records and authorities, Wampler has a murder conviction in California from 1977. (Thomas Boyd)

In August 1977, Wampler, who was 29, was convicted of second-degree murder in the killing of his father, Forey Edward Wampler, in Lake County, California, according to the district attorney’s office there and police reports.

During an interview with The Oregonian/OregonLive, Wampler denied he is the same man.

Wampler was accused of killing his 62-year-old father who was asleep in bed at his Lower Lake, Calif., residence, according to police reports and newspaper stories from the time. Wampler had been staying at his father’s home for eight days before the killing and had a troubled relationship with him, according to police reports.

Wampler was accused of hitting his father in the head with an eye bolt – a 16-inch rod — which police found on his father’s body, news and police reports say. Wampler left the residence, walked a few miles, hitchhiked and wound up at a liquor store, where he became upset and told an employee to call the sheriff’s office, police reports say.

“I have killed my father,” he told a deputy over the phone, according to the reports.

I’ve changed, too…does this mean that my past crimes cannot be held
        against me?
And if so, will someone tell the D.A.?

        • tracey marie January 21st, 2016 at 19:44

          Murder?

          • Hirightnow January 21st, 2016 at 19:47

Nothing proven, although I once stabbed a guy and he died…(2 years later…of cancer)…

He was wearing a large belt buckle, eh?

      The story is up now.

Fox News stated that Obama was ultimately responsible

  3. majii January 21st, 2016 at 18:51

“Two leaders of the occupation, Ammon Bundy and Robert “LaVoy” Finicum,
have both denied knowing Wampler or being aware of his criminal past.”

I’m ROTFLMBO at the cluelessness of these thuggish, misguided tools. They have a convicted murderer among them who has been talking to the media on their behalf and they didn’t even know it!

  4. Gina Bousquet January 21st, 2016 at 19:29

They’re all of a kind. No surprise there.

The rats turn on each other rather quickly.

  6. whatthe46 January 21st, 2016 at 19:49

so a “mentally ill” murderer has a gun, therefore breaking the law and he’s get an interview, but not a pair of silver bracelets.

    • Suzanne McFly January 21st, 2016 at 19:57

Somehow that makes perfect sense to a faux entertainment viewer.

      • whatthe46 January 21st, 2016 at 20:04

apparently. oh my GOD, did you hear what stupid stacy dash said about BET?

        • Suzanne McFly January 21st, 2016 at 20:13

Did she compare the BET awards to the Oscars? I can’t remember, there is too much stupidity follow.

Stacey Dash Slams Oscar Boycott as ‘Ludicrous’ and Takes Aim at ‘Segregated’ BET Awards

“I think it’s ludicrous,” Dash, 49, said about the response
to the Oscar nominations. “We have to make up our minds. Either we want
to have segregation or integration. If we don’t want segregation, then
we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the [NAACP] Image Awards, where you’re only awarded it you’re black.

I can hear her in her Mean Girls Valley Girl voice saying that.
              What a dolt.

Are you supposed to get snow?

                • mistlesuede January 21st, 2016 at 22:37

                  HI!!!
I never see you anymore. :(
Nah, we are good here. We had a little pretty light snow coming down around dinner time. We may get some tail end of the storm as it moves up the coast, but so far the local weather reports aren’t concerned. I love this El Nino winter.
Last week one day we had THUNDER SNOW! I thought of you and how cool you would have thought that was. There was lightning with it in some areas too.

                  • MagnaDave January 21st, 2016 at 22:45

I got to see (and hear) that when I lived in NM and it was AWESOME! Was your reaction the same as mine?

“Um, did I just hear thunder while it’s snowing???”

It’s pretty much the same here. Just to the west and north of me they are supposed to get freezing rain while we’ll just get rain. I guess that’s OK because the roads here are programmed to self-destruct if they get icy. Apparently, all the potholes are supposed to add traction for the next time it happens it something.

                    • mistlesuede January 21st, 2016 at 22:52

Our son called from his girlfriends house which is southeast from here and it was thundering very often. He doesn’t remember hearing it before, but perhaps he was too small. I know we’ve had it at least once before here that I remember well. They saw the lightning there.
I know, you’re like what is that, the snowplow coming down the road? You look out the window and no. It took a few minutes to realize what it was. So cool.
The ice is scary. You’re better off without it. President Obama’s motorcade was held up in it last night I guess. That could have been dangerous for his security.
Do they store salt or sand there for the roads at all?

                    • MagnaDave January 21st, 2016 at 23:08

I’m sure they must have stockpiles of sand around here somewhere just in case. It’s not like we have a shortage of it ;-) . I’m not sure about salt. I doubt there’s much, if any, stockpiled here along the coast but inland might be another story since they get snow and ice far more often than we do.

The last time it would have been needed was two years ago when we had a mild ice storm. I think it’s been three years (maybe four) since we had any snow and that was light and fleeting. What really got me (and I know that I’ve whined about this before) is that we were supposed to get 3 to 6 inches of snow with that ice storm and we didn’t even get 3 to six snowflakes. ٩͡[๏̯͡๏]۶

                    • mistlesuede January 21st, 2016 at 23:15

If you are going to get an ice storm, you may as well get snow too. It’s easier to drive on. I was giggling when watching the news and someone was saying “In DC when we get an inch of snow everything shuts down. How are we going to survive two feet?” We just laugh here at the reactions to what is a typical small storm here. :)

                    • MagnaDave January 21st, 2016 at 23:25

What the media isn’t mentioning is that the snow on the roads in the DC area turned to ice. But, I get where you’re coming from.

I can’t even begin to imagine what effect a major snow or ice storm would have here.

                    • mistlesuede January 21st, 2016 at 23:34

They did on the NBC World News. That’s where I saw the photos of the black ice that PO’s motorcade was trying to navigate. Black ice is so dangerous. I hate that. Just give us snow and no ice and we can handle it.
Can you imagine if it had been your area with 5-8 feet of snow last November? Even we needed equipment to move in here from the NYSDOT to start clearing the roads, The snow was too high for our huge snowplows! The amazing thing is that we never lost power.
That just reminded me of the movie “Driving Miss Daisy.” There was a pretty bad ice storm in the south during that movie and things were all shut down. The homes lost power and all that.

              Stacy Dash….Clueless~!

          • mistlesuede January 21st, 2016 at 22:30

            LOL! That is certainly true.

The whole crowd needs to go down.

  7. Tommie January 21st, 2016 at 22:21

I see they have a thug in their presence, i guess there are others who aren’t angels either!

  8. StoneyCurtisll January 21st, 2016 at 22:32

It’s long past time to starve theses fuggers out…

    • mistlesuede January 21st, 2016 at 22:34

The Governor, a woman, says she is tired of not speaking about it because that is what the Feds have asked her to do.
She wants this thing over after seeing that meeting where the townspeople were going after each other. She says it is tearing the community and families apart.

      • StoneyCurtisll January 21st, 2016 at 22:42

A simple blockade of all people/persons and property going in or out is all it would take…

They dropped freakin bombs on people in Philadelphia 30 years ago..(MOVE)
I cannot believe theses criminals are allowed to flaunt themselves without repercussion.

        • mistlesuede January 21st, 2016 at 22:45

For some reason it seems like they want to keep things peaceful instead of doing something even that simple. The thing is Cliven Bundy got away with what he did before, so is that how this is going to go also?
They arrested one of these morons who took a government vehicle into town to get supplies. Other than that, nothing is happening and it’s well beyond time that something does.

          • MagnaDave January 21st, 2016 at 22:47

That he was allowed to get away with it the first time certainly seems to explain why he is doing this again.

          • StoneyCurtisll January 21st, 2016 at 22:49

Not allowing Fed-Ex, Postal service, UPS or the free passage of people in and out is the very least violent means to bring this to an end…
How long our federal government is going to allow them to run it in our face is anyone’s guess.

            • MagnaDave January 21st, 2016 at 22:50

That’s exactly what I don’t get. Just isolate them.

              • StoneyCurtisll January 21st, 2016 at 22:52

                Exactly~!
Cut them off to all supplies and reinforcements..
It’s the most simple, and non violent thing to do~!

                • mistlesuede January 21st, 2016 at 22:56

Remember when Cliven pulled this crap before and some policemen were getting shots at their feet? I agree with you on the cutoff plan. How they react is the problem I guess.

                  • StoneyCurtisll January 21st, 2016 at 23:10

                    This is a wildlife refuge..
Miles away from the nearest town, (Burns OR) is nearly 30 miles away..
There is only one, maybe two roads..
                    It couldn’t get any easier..
And if push came to shove, who is gonna be the aggressor?
The criminals trying to re-supply of the authorities who want to put an end to the blatant criminal activity/

                    • mistlesuede January 21st, 2016 at 23:19

It was the criminals last time, so I would assume that’s the way it would go again. They are just itching for some kind of overwhelming force to move in and have a real western shootout for the media. It will play out that the Feds are the aggressor and poor little over-burdened ranchers were injured or mistreated. That’s what they want.

                • MagnaDave January 21st, 2016 at 23:09

                  It seems so obvious.

So so ^^ . How about you?

                    • mistlesuede January 21st, 2016 at 23:01

That doesn’t sound good? Are you feeling okay?
                      I’m my usual, okay.

                    • TheSpiffy January 21st, 2016 at 23:05

Eh past couple days, I’ve been going in and out of being sick or something. It’s hard to describe really, I just feel dizzy, at points like I’m going to vomit, and sleepy lol.

                    • mistlesuede January 21st, 2016 at 23:07

You have a mild case of yuck or something? Are you able to eat anything or have tea? It must be some kind of virus. :(

                    • mistlesuede January 22nd, 2016 at 17:14

Hope you are feeling better today? :)

                    • TheSpiffy January 22nd, 2016 at 17:28

                      yea :)

That’s good. I think being nauseous is the worst thing, although dizzy isn’t too great either.
                      Take care.

                • MagnaDave January 21st, 2016 at 23:09

        >> The Governor, a woman, says she is tired of not speaking about it because that is what the Feds have asked her to do.

I heard her speak yesterday and she made an unequivocal demand that the Feds get these guys out.

These goofballs are cost us Oregonian taxpayers a fortune.

I a going to be so angry if they are not arrested.

And sued for the cost of this stunt.

  9. bpollen January 22nd, 2016 at 05:07

All they need now is a David Ferry and Guy Bannister characters, and I’d think this was an Oliver Stone movie. Or a bad Tarantino… with horrible dialogue.

  10. Mensa Member January 22nd, 2016 at 09:30

I wonder how much this goofball has cost us tax payers over the decades?
