When I was younger, I never would’ve guessed that a presidential election could determine the fate of humanity by way of ignorance.

Sigh. I just knew you were going to post something like this. So the Great Lakes freeze in the winter? Fantastic observation! Stop the presses RER observes weather!

The reason, in case you might be interested in the science (doubtful, I know), is because the polar jet stream has very high amplitude this year. Large north/south excursions called Rossby Waves cause meridional flow that bring subfreezing temps very far south into the US Midwest. This strong flow has persisted over the midwest for weeks. Why does the jet stream have these large excursions? In large part due to the warming of the planet and disproportional warming of the Arctic

Some people just don’t the capacity to understand that the world is bigger than the little part they live in.

Apparently he/she doesn’t live here in WNY where we had FIVE-EIGHT feet of snow in one day last November. They do not understand that the wild extremes of drought, rain and snowfall are because of global climate change. It gets exhausting dealing with mental midgets, doesn’t it?

stop – you are using big words – a thing that the robot hasn’t been programmed for.

Every year since 1977 is ‘Globally Warmer’ then the 20th century average. And 15 of the top 16 warmest years have occurred since 2000 (1998 being the lone pre-21st century year on the list). The last time we had a year become the coldest on record was 1911.
Global Warming climate change is 80% caused by human burning fossil fuel, 20% caused by human deforestation. No wonder (R)Koch’s Big Oil & Coal plummeted! http://climate.nasa.gov/
