In Spite Of Veto, Republicans Vow To Keep Trying To Repeal Obamacare

Maybe after 62 tries, the 63rd one is the charm.

“We have now shown that there is a clear path to repealing Obamacare without 60 votes in the Senate,” House Speaker Paul Ryan said, according to AP. “So, next year, if we’re sending this bill to a Republican president, it will get signed into law. Obamacare will be gone. … It’s just a matter of time.”

I love my President and hate to see him go (especially now that he has taken the gloves off) but I can’t wait to vote in November and send these bastards home.

sure would love to take the Senate too

      • Suzanne McFly January 9th, 2016 at 14:44

There was a story on MSNBC this morning about how if we upset the public enough by educating them on the stances of the republican party, there is a chance for a sweep.

  2. jybarz January 9th, 2016 at 10:31

Somebody should sue the GOP for wasting time and taxpayers’ money over and over again for 62 times knowing that they’ll fail.
The country is not getting any benefit for having these useless numbskulls in Congress.
    IDIOTS!

I wonder if the American people could join a class action suit. It would be a long slog of providing all the information proving damages, but it sure could be done.

      • anothertoothpick January 9th, 2016 at 13:18

Last week in congress the pond scum republicans past a bill making all but impossible to file class action suits.

I thought that was only for the Volkswagen standardized emissions problem? No?

          • anothertoothpick January 9th, 2016 at 14:10

Yeah, that was part of it I am sure.

            • mistlesuede January 9th, 2016 at 16:05

It sounds according to the article in MJ that it was in the works for a while. Apparently, Volkswagen must be a big donor to the GOTP because they certainly moved fast on this.
This would have to pass the Senate now, right? I’m not sure it will get through there.

                Introduced:
                Apr 22, 2015
                Status:
Passed House on Jan 8, 2016
This bill passed in the House on January 8, 2016 and goes to the Senate next for consideration.

                Full Title
To amend title 28, United States Code, to improve fairness in class action litigation.

                Summary
The House is scheduled to take up the Fairness in Class Action Litigation Act (H.R. 1927), which aims to reform the current federal class action lawsuit framework by requiring uninjured parties to be part of separate class action suits than those parties experiencing more extensive injuries. According to data from the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, enactment …

Only those people who share injuries of the same type and extent should be part of a class action lawsuit,” said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) when introducing the bill on April 22. “I was proud to help move the Class Action Fairness Act through Congress ten years ago, and today I am introducing this legislation to supplement the protections afforded to victims in class actions, and further reduce wasteful litigation in our courts.”

It makes it sound reasonable, but I smell a rat. A GOTP corporate connection rat.

Repealing OCare before you have a viable plan is just plan bat sh!t crazy…it’s like selling your house and not having a new home or apt lined up…it’s the epitome of irresponsibility. I won’t even argue OCare with anyone until they present me with a better alternative, and going back to what we had won’t work for millions so it isn’t an option.

  4. rg9rts January 9th, 2016 at 11:26

If you do so there will be 7,000,000 voters gone too…god the gopee is stupid

    • mistlesuede January 9th, 2016 at 11:58

      If they vote. :(

      • rg9rts January 9th, 2016 at 12:13

I’m sure that those on ACA have a vested interest in voting

  5. mistlesuede January 9th, 2016 at 11:54

They aren’t happy with their 9% approval rating. They are actively trying to get to that 0% number.

  6. maggie January 9th, 2016 at 12:33

what I want to know is how republicans….can continually stick their heads in the sand about their representatives that are really happy just spinning their wheels and doing absolutely nothing for them….

  7. Gina Bousquet January 9th, 2016 at 12:37

Next year you’ll be sending this Bill to a Democratic president, you tool.

  8. labman57 January 9th, 2016 at 12:54

The fact that the GOP continues to waste time and taxpayer money attempting to repeal or undermine the ACA is indicative that Congressional Republicans have all the functionality of a dog chasing its own tail.

I can remember when healthcare was actually affordable.

Then it became unaffordable and we need insurance.

Then the insurance became unaffordable and requires government subsidies.

And now we need subsidized insurance, and sublimental for the deductables.

This is all because pond scum republicans want the for profit insurance companies involved

We need medcare for all and make the insurance companies competebagainst that.

    The GOP strategy:

    Real Obamacare
    Investigate Benghazi
    Real Obamacare
    Investigate Benghazi
    Real Obamacare
    Investigate Benghazi
    Real Obamacare
    Investigate Benghazi

Repeat over and over until they lose the White House again.

Counselor I know defines “FAIL” as “First Action In Learning”
    But these people aren’t learning!

    • Mensa Member January 9th, 2016 at 20:24

Isn’t that the main lesson in “What’s the matter with Kansas?”

Conservative seem to have a vertical learning curve. The act against their own best self-interests again and again.

While the GOP-led congress is repealing Obamacare, we have real problems to solve:

Here is my list, more-or-less in order:

    1) Pass regulatory laws to prevent the 2009 crash from happening again.
    2) Fund the R&D necessary for getting America off Middle Eastern oil — and fossil fuels in general.
    3) Pass laws to end identity theft.
    4) Prepare America for the next disease outbreak: whether it is a hemorrhagic virus, a horrible flu or whatever.
    5) Pass comprehensive, effective gun control.
    6) Get big money out of politics
    7) Get mental health and drug addiction treatment for everybody with a priority on the homeless and veterans.
    8) Pass comprehensive immigration reform.
    9) Bring middle class manufacturing jobs back to America.
    10) Make taxes fair again.

These are real problems that have real effects on our lives. But, the GOP has no interest in fixing them.

Instead they repeal Oamacare and investigate Benghazi.

Oh, you young people and your idealism!
(I agree with everything except #6…because it just. won’t. happen.)

      • Mensa Member January 9th, 2016 at 20:21

Arguably, getting big money out of politics, should be #1.

Because that makes most of the others much easier.

        • Hirightnow January 9th, 2016 at 20:34

Oh, I Agree with the sentiment…it’s just that, in a “capitalist” society (haha), money rules.

They’re going to send the bill to a Republican President next year? Don’t bet on it.
