The problem with Ted Cruz is that he is so dang unlikable.
Mitt Romney had the same fatal flaw.
Policy and ideology aside — Mitt was an out-of-touch douchy-jerk.
Ted Cruz is as unlikable or worse. Ted is a sanctimonious douchy-jerk.

So what should the immigration laws of our country be? Should we do anything to keep people out of the country? Should anyone that manages to enter the country be allowed to stay as long as they commit no other crimes? What do you propose as the solution going forward? We all know Reagan granted amnesty way back when, but that obviously did nothing to stop illegal immigration right? So if we do another round of amnesty do you expect anything to change in regards to people entering illegally?
