Ryan Bundy: We’re Not Terrorists, But U.S. Government Is

Posted by | January 7, 2016 10:12 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

During an interview, Ryan Bundy, who is part of the armed anti-government group which seized Malheur the National Nature Preserve near Burns, Oregon, was asked whether the timing of the occupation intentionally coincided with President Obama’s announcement of executive action on firearms. Bunday answered,”somewhat.” What’s really ironic is before discussing Obama’s executive actions on guns, Bundy…

Strange way to define what a terrorist is

  2. mistlesuede January 7th, 2016 at 10:21

The only thing that terrorized this piece of work is the car that ran over his face when he was a child. That must have been horrible. The government is doing nothing to terrorize anyone dolt. In this case, we wish they would.

  3. Gina Bousquet January 7th, 2016 at 10:22

A government that’s being more than tolerant with an armed group of occupation

  4. fahvel January 7th, 2016 at 11:05

such small minds getting so much cover – sad statement as regards the scene. Ignore the fools

  5. William January 7th, 2016 at 11:06

He’s half right. He’s not a terrorist. We would take a terrorist seriously.

  6. BillPasadena January 7th, 2016 at 14:47

Strange that both #BLM and the bundys view the government as abusive.

    • bpollen January 7th, 2016 at 21:39

      To you…

      • BillPasadena January 8th, 2016 at 14:50

Do you disagree that both groups have called the government abusive? Isn’t shooting a kid with a toy gun abusive enough for you?

        • whatthe46 January 8th, 2016 at 15:18

how on earth has the govt. been abusive to the bundy’s? in absolutely NO WAY can they compare themselves to BLM movement.

          • BillPasadena January 8th, 2016 at 15:25

The ranchers in Oregon are named Hammond.

            • whatthe46 January 8th, 2016 at 15:45

they were in no way being abused either. they are fricken criminals. the idiots at the ranch are the bundy’s not the hammonds.

              • BillPasadena January 8th, 2016 at 16:06

                I googled again.
The ranchers in Oregon are still named Hammond.

                • whatthe46 January 8th, 2016 at 17:25

The internal dissent over the invasion of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge by Ammon and Ryan Bundy and a group of out-of-state militiamen has, in fact, been very public. Indeed, the majority of “Patriot” and “constitutionalist” organizers have adamantly denounced the takeover and pleaded with the Bundy brothers to back off.

For their part, the Bundys and their militia cohort have been defiant, insisting that the cause of the Hammond family – the ranchers whose arson convictions provided the centerpiece of the original protest last Saturday that led to the takeover – is worth “taking a stand” over.

                  • BillPasadena January 8th, 2016 at 17:48

Made public by people that need to score political points against their enemies.
How else do you explain so much press?

Do you think it was “fair” what happened to the hammonds?

                    • tracey marie January 8th, 2016 at 17:59

fair…they illegally hunted and set a fire to cover up their crime. They burned 139 acres of public land, a sanctuary. They told the bundy thugs to leave and turned themselves into the cops, accepted their punishment. So troll, how else are you going to deflect.

                    • whatthe46 January 8th, 2016 at 19:34

you damn straight the punishment they received was fair. you ask that question as if to suggest they had been treated unfairly by being sentenced to prison for committing a crime of arson.

                    • BillPasadena January 9th, 2016 at 13:10

You believe everyone in jail is guilty and deserves to be there?
                      Ouch.

                    • bpollen January 9th, 2016 at 22:33

Still putting words in other people’s mouth so you can jump on THOSE words. I saw nothing in her post that said anything about prisoners in general or in toto. To put it another way, you are making shite up again.

Have to resort to mendacity to come up with a response? Have to misrepresent other’s statements so you can express dismay or outrage at how unreasonable they are based on the dialogue you write in place of their actual words. Ouch. Makes you look pretty ineffectual, dishonest, and incapable of rational discourse. Double ouch.

                    • whatthe46 January 9th, 2016 at 22:50

i don’t know how he managed to pull that question out of his ass. i seriously don’t.

                    • bpollen January 9th, 2016 at 22:26

Yes. Arson usually results in prison time. Especially when the arson is to cover up evidence of another crime. They were legally sentenced and willingly surrendered to serve that sentence. Class A felonies are not petty crimes.

                    • BillPasadena January 10th, 2016 at 13:09

How many times have you heard of someone serving their sentence and then having additional time added?

                    • Jack E Raynbeau January 10th, 2016 at 14:36

They didn’t serve their sentences. The mandatory minimum for that crime is 5 years.

                • tracey marie January 8th, 2016 at 18:01

deflection…damn you are an ineffective troll, just ignorant

                • bpollen January 9th, 2016 at 22:22

Still in prison. Still not involved directly. Still totally not pertinent.

                  • BillPasadena January 10th, 2016 at 13:22

                    Not “still” in prison.

Back in prison after serving their original sentence and following all the rules of their release.

By then, the men had already served their shorter sentences and were under supervised release.
                    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/oregon-occupation-mandatory-minimum-sentences_568aa2c8e4b06fa68882e3c5

How many times have you heard of someone being found guilty, served their time and following all the rules of their release and then the government adding more prison time? Tough question bpollen.

                    • Obewon January 10th, 2016 at 14:12

Your HuffPo Link proves why ‘we lead because read’ verses your TV addicted delusions:

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, which reviewed the Hammonds’ sentences in 2014, explained that the jurors relied in part on testimony that during the 2001 fire, Steven Hammond told a teenaged relative to drop lit matches on the ground so as to “light up the whole country on fire.” The blaze consumed 139 acres of public land, and apparently endangered the teen.

The case would have been over had the trial court imposed the five years of imprisonment that the law mandates. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CTJqwX-AwM

                    • Jack E Raynbeau January 10th, 2016 at 14:38

Either side can appeal the sentence. The government appealed and prevailed.

                    • bpollen January 10th, 2016 at 17:36

                      Not “still” in prison.

They went into prison Monday. You wrote twice to point out that the farmers who are NOT personally involved are the Hammonds… on Saturday. Ergo, they were still in prison BOTH times you brought it up.

And how many times have you heard where armed yahoos taking over empty government buildings resulted in the release of people from prison? Tough question, BullPasadena. Fewer times than people have been re-sentenced, that’s for sure. Zero is smaller than ANY positive number.

But, in any event, they were legally re-sentenced. And they are not the only people ever re-sentenced (as you could have discovered had you bothered to search for yourself.) So, to summarize, the Hammonds were legally re-sentenced, they want nothing to do with the Bundy Bunch, nor does the community the Hammonds are part of. So the Hammonds are not pertinent to the subject at hand (armed yahoos confiscating government property) no matter how much or how many times you try to assert they are.

            • tracey marie January 8th, 2016 at 18:00

              deflecting again troll.

            • bpollen January 9th, 2016 at 22:21

They are in prison. They ain’t part of the Bundy Bunch, and in fact have disavowed, via their lawyer, any connection to Malheur Malodorous Militia. So they really are nothing more than the pretense to hang their Reich-Wing Revolution on.

        • bpollen January 9th, 2016 at 02:38

So much easier to refute the words you put into my mouth for me, isn’t it?

I post two words and from this you get verklempt (falsely, I might add) about Tamir Rice and how I am not satisfied by his death. What utter BS.

You say it’s strange that BLM and the Yahoo Militia both call the government abusive. I, on the other hand, find it offensive that these jagoffs think that they are being oppressed because they have to follow the same laws that every other man jack does. They have NOT been abused, they have been sucking on the government teat and then threaten violence unless they get more.

I find it offensive that you think that VanillaISIS is credible and somehow equivalent to BLM, who have an ACTUAL grievance. Like “we don’t want you killing us” is equivalent to “I don’t wanna follow rules!” Or like killing Tamir Rice is just like people being sentenced for arson.

So spare me your faux concern, your false equivalencies, your making up things to accuse me of, your little “agent provacaturd” act…

          • whatthe46 January 9th, 2016 at 03:02

feel that soft touch on your cheek? that’s me giving you a sweet little kiss. thanks bpollen!

          • BillPasadena January 9th, 2016 at 13:06

I’m glad you decided that “vanilla isis” isn’t being oppressed.

Strange that the people you call “vanilla ISIS” aren’t ambushing cops in new york.

But I understand why you need to demonize the Americans you hate. That’s politics in 2016. Hate.

            • bpollen January 9th, 2016 at 15:43

There you go again. Putting words in my mouth. Are you so lazy that you can’t be bothered actually dealing with what IS said, rather than what YOU said I said?

You are making shite up. When did BLM ambush a cop in New York? Never. But the truth doesn’t fit your narrative, so the truth must be dispensed with.

You claim I am demonizing YallQaeda? You’ll have to prove that what I said isn’t true to make a case for “demonizing.” And you’ll play hell trying to find where I spoke falsely about them. But why let things like reality interfere with your histrionics, eh?

How is it that you, who doesn’t know me from Adam, can tell who I hate? Especially since I don’t hate them. I think they are stupid and dangerous and bigoted and freeloading sonsabitches, but I don’t hate them. Yes, I have little respect for freeloaders who want to bite the hand that feeds them. I have little respect for yahoos who attempt armed confrontations with the government because they don’t think THEY should have to follow the law.

I also have no respect for people who think it’s “strange” that the Deadbeat Militia isn’t killing cops. It’s “strange” that haven’t murdered anybody? You are one sick mother.

              • BillPasadena January 9th, 2016 at 21:56

I use your term “vanilla isis” and your response is about BLM ambushing cops?
                Interesting how your mind thinks.

                • bpollen January 9th, 2016 at 22:16

You claimed that YallQaeda wasn’t ambushing cops, implying (falsely) that BLM has. You obviously pay not attention to YOUR words either. You equate BLM and VanillaISIS, then claim it’s the OTHER guy who is bringing up BLM.

Interesting how deflect and obfuscate, provoke and project, but actually contribute nothing tangible. Strange how you try to blame your own false equivalencies on other people.

Strange that the people you call “vanilla ISIS” aren’t ambushing cops in new york.

Your own words, Bucky. What unmentioned third-party was that in reference to? Because you only brought up BLM and the Bundy Bunch.

“Interesting” isn’t the word I would use to describe your thinking; vile, shallow, ignorant, delusional – that’s more in the right vein.

                  • BillPasadena January 10th, 2016 at 13:14

Please show me where I said BLM ambushed cops.

“vanilla isis” is bpollens term to racially identify. I mocked her, that why it is in quotes.
If that bothers you, ask bpollen why she hears cop ambush and thinks BLM.

                    • Obewon January 10th, 2016 at 13:56

I think you’re confused. The laughably inept NRA Bundy gang are well proven thieves, scofflaws & owe We-the-taxpayers $1 M+.
So they break and enter into a deserted wildlife sanctuary, as snowfall begins, lacking warm socks, undies & food, while holding egrets and herons hostage! Thanks again for reproving no intelligent life remains in today’s Racist Nut Case GOP.

                    • tracey marie January 10th, 2016 at 13:57

Not to racially id but to show the obvios diffrence between peaceful protests of unarmed black people and the armed militia that shots first, hopes for women and children to be killed so they may start a war.

                    • bpollen January 10th, 2016 at 17:43

Please show me where I said BLM ambushed cops.

What a lie. I never said that you SAID they were ambushing cops. Show me where I did!

You claimed that YallQaeda wasn’t ambushing cops, implying (falsely) that BLM has.

Can you show how “imply” becomes “said”??? Of course not, because you HAVE to lie to have an argument. You LIED when you stated the first quote above. You LIED repeatedly about what other people were saying so you could excoriate them for the words you put in their mouth.

I’m not tolerating your lies anymore, I’m calling you out bpollen.

What a sad little projector you are… Calling me out? Hysterical.

I think the Government is going to avoid the potential of another Ruby Ridge at all costs. The response should be appropriate to the crime. There doesn’t seem to be any immediate danger to life of property, and time is on the side of the law.

        • allison1050 January 10th, 2016 at 17:59

They shouldn’t be allowed to come and go at will. If they come out then that should be the time they’re arrested and anyone new wanting to go in should have been turned around and sent on their way.
