Legislator Targeted By NRA Speaks Out

Posted by | January 6, 2016 10:14 | Filed under: Politics Radio Interviews

The NRA framed a pictured New York State Senator Roxanne Persaud in bullets to protest legislation that would limit the amount of ammunition one could buy. She reacted on my radio show Tuesday night.

Persaud told me about the “vile” emails she received as a result of the photo, which she said gives the impression the NRA is advocating violence. She also said that the president is in a “no-win situation” regarding executive action on guns and explained why she thinks legislating ammunition is a way to tackle America’s gun violence problem.

Targeted! Ever wonder why this concentrated effort to demonize the NRA is failing so miserably? Because everyone involved in gun control lacks credibility. So many contradictory lies have been told for so long, people don’t believe you anymore. The left is the boy who cried NRA

    • tracey marie January 6th, 2016 at 10:36

90% of Americans are FOR gun restrictions.

    • arc99 January 6th, 2016 at 10:42

you NRA sycophants are the ones who lack credibility and are too blind to see it.

you cannot see that there are millions of guns owners like me who are liberal and want nothing to do with the NRA. your idiotic inaccurate generalizations about “the left” demonstrate how disconnected from reality you are.

there are lots of gun owners in this country who think the NRA is a walking obscenity, and I am one of them. but if you want to govern by opinion polls, then STFU about Planned Parenthood which polled more favorably than the NRA.

Then, there is the Democratic party outpolling the GOP in this poll. Or how about Hilary Clinton having a higher rating than any GOP candidate as shown in the same poll.

You want to govern by polls? Fine. Liberals win hands-down….

He’s too dumb to check out what he is posting first. This poll shows that weakness when you compare the “mostly favorable” meaning they aren’t real happy to the “very favorable” which is lower every time.
These gun humpers sure make our arguments for us. :)

    • mistlesuede January 6th, 2016 at 10:43

If you paid attention to your own poll, the “mostly favorable” is higher than the “very favorable” every time this poll was done. That means that you can’t count that total with the other to come up with a solid number. Apparently, a larger number have qualms about what the NRA is doing and it is most likely regarding the way they are stopping any and all safety measures that they want. Responsible gun owners do want the things that the President has proposed, some want even more done.
And also, for some perspective, Gallup is a right wing organization, so it doesn’t mean a whole lot. The only time it is useful is in a Presidential election when it actually shows that the Democratic candidate is leading. Then we know we are golden. It worked the two most recent elections.

Using your methodology you never get near 100%. In 2015 you get 70%

        • mistlesuede January 7th, 2016 at 18:48

          Deflection now?
First you put up a poll that doesn’t make your point and then you come back a day later with that?
          HAHAHAHAHA.
          Comment fail.

I’m sorry but you’re sadly uninformed. The respondents were given the choice of 5 possible responses. Very Favorable, Mostly favorable, very unfavorable, mostly unfavorable and no opinion. Now don’t let facts deter you, feel free to make up a reality that more pleasingly suits personal ideology

            • mistlesuede January 8th, 2016 at 09:46

Talk about uninformed. You never bothered to read your own poll that before you posted it, you were called out and now you can’t seem to give up on your non-point.

Maybe you can digest this easier:

                  Red Eyed Retard:

You need to get a life. I’m not interested in your BS from two days ago. You were wrong then and you are wrong now. Crawl back to wherever it is you come from.

                  Go away. Capisce?

Just 2 M active National Racist Association members remain. Many cancelled their lifetime membershit like Bush Sr! http://www.nytimes.com/1995/05/11/us/letter-of-resignation-sent-by-bush-to-rifle-association.html

The number of American households that own one or more guns has again reached its lowest point, according to data from a survey released March 3. Gun ownership is now back at the low point it reached in 2010: Only 32% of Americans own a firearm or live with someone who does, compared with about half the population in the late 1970s and early 1980s, according to the 2014 General Social Survey (GSS). http://www.newsweek.com/us-gun-ownership-declines-312822 Eff the NRA say most Americans, sans the few remaining RepubliKlans.

Excellent! Even 51% of repubs among [The] poll finding 67% say they favor the changes Obama announced, and 32% oppose them. Support for the executive actions, designed to expand background checks to cover more gun purchases made online or at gun shows and to make it easier for the FBI to complete background checks efficiently, comes across party lines, with majorities of Democrats (85%), independents (65%) and Republicans (51%) in favor of them. Majorities back the measures across most demographic groups, in fact, including 57% of gun owners and 56% of rural residents.

Those who strongly favor the changes outnumber those who are strongly opposed by about a 2-to-1 margin: 43% say they are strongly in favor, 21% strongly opposed. Via http://www.alan.com/2016/01/07/poll-67-support-president-on-guns/

I suppose even with this nice chart with the very red bars that no one can deny seeing, that gun humper will still argue and fail again. :)

Ever wonder why this concentrated effort to demonize the NRA Planned Parenthood is failing so miserably?

Fixed it for ya. You’re welcome

      http://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/how-public-views-planned-parenthood-nra-n403451

In a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, Planned Parenthood was rated positively by 45 percent of those surveyed, while 30 percent said they viewed the organization negatively.

The NRA got a positive rating from 43 percent of respondents and a negative rating from 32 percent.

Did you ever wonder why the NRA treats it’s membership like a bunch of slack jawed, knuckle dragging hicks?

It is because NRA recognizes that it’s members are comprised of idiots.

  2. mistlesuede January 6th, 2016 at 10:51

These ladies are to be congratulated, not targeted, for trying to do something, anything to stop the madness since the Congress in DC quivers under the control of the NRA.

  3. anothertoothpick January 6th, 2016 at 12:38

While the NRA has the reputation of being able to deliver huge numbers of votes for, or against, politicians in state and federal elections, the members take little interest in the internal political matters of their own organization. While every NRA member eligible to vote receives a ballot in their regular NRA magazine, fewer than 7% bother to return them. That’s a pretty poor showing for the oldest and most powerful civil rights organization in the countr

    • Richard Banville January 11th, 2016 at 16:20

The NRA has about as much to do with civil rights as the KKK…
