CNN just ran a breaking news piece on Alabama’s Chief Justice blocking same sex marriage license licenses. As it turns out, Roy Moore, the right wing’s most fervent religious justice is at it again. He’s placing his religious views ahead of his job, his constituents and the Supreme Court by blocking same sex marriage licenses. USA…

Time for the Federal Marshalls to drag Moore out of office; and while their at it, Alabama out of the 18th century.

taking the state to the 21st century will be a challenge. Arresting Moore at his office and/or home and holding him over for trial (even if he takes another SOLEMN OATH not to avoid prosecution) is merely one phone call from the Justice Department to a FEDERAL Judge in Alabama.

Wow. Can this state secede with TX from the Union? And take this a-hole religious zealot with you!
    Really. What is their purpose?

      Theocracy comes to mind.

Jackass. It’s the worst abuse of power.

He is showboating, he knows this cannot be enforced. It is like his demand for the 10 Commandments on Federal buildings, is is getting a base so he can run for office and grift for life.

Pardon the long quote, but this expresses his hypocrisy even better than I could:

“There was no mention in Moore’s order of the federal case overseen by U.S. District Court Judge Callie Granade that has challenged the Alabama ban. In that case, Granade in May 2015 issued a preliminary injunction striking down the amendment and act referenced by Moore in his administrative order. The order applied to all probate judges in the state because it was the result of a class action lawsuit that included all probate judges as the defendant class but was put on hold pending the outcome of the Supreme Court’s Obergefell case.

After the Obergefell decision was issued, Granade issued a clarification order on July 1, 2015, noting that ‘the preliminary injunction is now in effect and binding on all members of the Defendant Class.'”

Think that there’ll ever be a “States’ rights” issue that actually promotes equality? Or is it the right of the States to make sure that the straight, white Christian male always stays on top?

Well, it looks like Roy Jefferson Davis Moore is a bit confused about what country and what century he’s living in.

Somebody is going to get impeached, and it won’t be President Obama….

Is this a violation of federal law, making it possible for the government to sanction him and invalidate his attempt? I mean, federal law always trumps state law.

Desperate rear-guard action by losers on the wrong side of history.

Alabama is one of the biggest taker states in the US.

Without Washington DC they would starve to death.

And from the looks of things they will never amount to a hill of sh!t.

I have to ask why these civil war hold backs cannot admit they lost the war, and not let loose of the pre-civil war ideology…..
What exactly is it they hope to gain from cringing to the past?

SCOTUS will smack this smarmy prick down, and Alabama will be forced to foot the bill.

He just made himself the darling of the religiously insane. He’s just trying to make America great again…..

Moore is just another Bible-thumping jurist who treats the U.S. Constitution in a manner
similar to how he views the Bible — as something to be cherry-picked to support and
    rationalize a preconceived conclusion.

To that end, federal court decisions — including those of the Supreme Court — can be summarily ignored if said judicial outcomes do not validate his particular set of Christian beliefs.

Another reason why religious dogma and public policy make poor bedfellows.

    • granpa.usthai January 7th, 2016 at 09:19

also why Federal Laws should be upheld without prejudice.
ACTIVIST JUDGES than reign with absolute power in a state or territory of the United States of America take a solemn oath to UPHOLD the Constitution of The United States of America. If they refuse, they should be removed from the bench and receive whatever punishment befits their CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES by The Government of The United States of America. If the peoples of the state or territory no longer wish to be a part of the Union, then let them leave -or- throw their asses out (just be sure to bring ALL US PROPERTIES). – and leave them to their own damn demise – no matter how stupid and/or religious they are. If in due time they wish to belong to the union again, they may re-apply for statehood, just so long as their state constitution relinquishes sovereign powers to the rulings of the United States Constitution – just like it does NOW, and their government officials take a solemn oath to UPHOLD THE Constitution of THE United States of America – just as they now do.

I’ve read in great science journals that the american south east has a particular brain boring worm that enters peoples bodies through the urethras and works its way into what brain there is and beigins to slowly feast away – the south will not rise again but if it does, ooooohhh the ugly.

    • Hirightnow January 7th, 2016 at 15:16

That’s malarkey, fellow human! These rumors of parasitical brain worms are just that; rumors!
I and my hive-sisters invite you to come to Florida and swim in our crystal brown lakes, free from fear that your mind will be invaded by creatures intent on establishing their glorious rule upon your puny planet! Besides that, what sentient Chaetognath with any self-respect would invade the host through the urethra, when the nasal cavity on humans is so much closer to the sweet sweet brain?
Hope to see you at Spring Break! Glornag be with you.

Piss pot poor republican states are always wasting millions of dollars on foolish lawsuits brought about just to thrill the poor, tattooed and toothless, white trash, hate monger goons in their state.

If they stopped pandering to those goons, the goons would stop being goons in less than a generation. Not a single republican has the guts or the honor to say enough is enough!

time to call up the national guard (again)
or send in federal troops to once again uphold US Law.
