Gen. Wes Clark: Ted Cruz ‘The Very Definition Of A Demagogue
I asked General Wesley Clark the four star former NATO commander about Ted Cruz’s comment that he’d “make the sand glow” in the Middle East. We also discussed the president’s ISIS plan and domestic terrorism.
GEN. CLARK: Of course. It magnifies the message of Al-Qaeda and ISIS. Because what it says is, hey, you saw it on the website there is a war against Islam and look, there’s Donald Trump, he’s the biggest capitalist, the biggest leader trying to be President of the United States, he says there is a war against Islam, it must be true…
The kind of the inflammatory rhetoric we’re getting from some of the political candidates like Donald Trump is not helpful.
COLMES: And Ted Cruz says let’s make the sand glow in the Middle East.
GEN. CLARK: And I bet it got a big roar of approval too.
COLMES: And that’s the problem, the people that applauded this stuff.
GEN. CLARK: You know Ted Cruz last I checked, he’s a Princeton graduate, and a Harvard guy and a 150 IQ so something, he’s supposed to be a brilliant guy, he doesn’t know the first thing about military operations, or more disturbing is he’ll simply says whatever draws an applause, and that’s the definition of a demagogue.
