Weak Sauce: Jeb Bush Says He Will ‘Absolutely’ Support GOP Nominee No Matter What

Republican presidential candidate and leading polling blip Jeb Bush took a bold stand against Donald Trump on Tuesday, telling Chuck Todd that there’s no way the runaway frontrunner will be the Republican nominee. It’s the same dodge that Bush has used repeatedly to avoid saying whether or not he would support Donald Trump if he wins the nomination. That might be a little bit more comforting if Jeb himself could believe that Jeb is going to win.

Unfortunately for Jeb, Chuck was in a follow-up kind of mood today, and wouldn’t quite let him get away with that evasion. When pressed, Jeb conceded that he “absolutely” would support the GOP nominee no matter what, but vowed to continue clicking the heels of his slippers together and saying “Donald Trump won’t be the nominee!”:

Todd: Well, it doesn’t sound like you can support him if he’s the nominee, why not say it?

Jeb!: Because it’s not going to happen. He’s not going to be the nominee. I will support the Republican nominee and I’m working hard to make sure I’m it.

Todd: So you will support the Republican nominee no matter what the voters decide?

Jeb!: Absolutely. It’s not going to be Donald Trump.

If the denunciations of Trump’s latest insane (and insanely popular with Republicans) move rang a little hollow before, consider that not only is Jeb willing to vote for the guy who wants to ban Muslims from entering the United States. he’s also the guy who, not two weeks ago, proposed…READ MORE

I don’t think so. I have had quite a few Life Long friends who were Republican Christians. We have gotten along fine all these years. It seems in the past three years they have totally fallen off the Tea Party Cliff. I do feel the NAZI influence has really gotten worse. They are becoming very bold and they are definitely following the Republican Presidential Candidates Lead. There has definitely been Equine waste product hitting the Ventilating System.

I also know a few republicans who are still republicans even though all this hate speech is coming from their leading candidates. If my party starts spewing ignorance, I will jump ship but these fools just start putting on their life preservers and locate the dinghies. That doesn’t make sense to me if they don’t feel that way, why continue to support them?

          • The Original Just Me December 9th, 2015 at 11:14

I live in Idaho and it is really hard to find an intelligent Republican here. But, we do have one that seems to have a few brain cells left. U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson does seem to have a bit of a head on his shoulder. His biggest problem is dodging the Tea Baggers around here. Each election cycle, they get more aggressive at replacing him in the Primaries. He has enough Democrat and Independent support that he does the main election just fine. He is one of the Last Old time Republicans left.
