Ryan Vows To ‘Replace Every Word Of Obamacare’

Posted by | December 3, 2015 17:48 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

House Speaker Paul Ryan says it’s “urgent.”

…Ryan (R-Wis.) said Thursday he plans to roll out a long-awaited replacement plan for ObamaCare in 2016, lifting healthcare reform to the top of the House GOP’s agenda in a presidential election year.

“There are many things to do, but most urgent is to repeal and replace ObamaCare,” Ryan said. “We think this problem is so urgent that, next year, we are going to unveil a plan to replace every word of ObamaCare.”

Replace it with what? Predatory insurance programs?

  3. Roctuna December 3rd, 2015 at 18:33

It’s so urgent they’ve been working on it for 4+ years and they’ll roll it out next year!

    • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker December 3rd, 2015 at 19:25

They’ve had over 30 years to address rising healthcare costs and did diddly squat other than harp about tort reform.
Anyone average citizen who believes a republican politician is braindead.

    Replace it with what jughead?
ACA is saving lives and uninsured rates are the lowest in decades, not to mention those with coverage won’t go bankrupt if a family member falls ill and for the first time families can’t be denied coverage for pre-existing conditions.
Just a bunch of rightwing clowns pandering to their ignorant teabagger base.

There you go again, trying to confuse them with facts.

      • Mensa Member December 3rd, 2015 at 23:03

I am completely open to an improvement on Obamacare.

But, of course, Ryan is wants to replace Obamacare. Not improve it.

  6. amersham46 December 3rd, 2015 at 19:25

After failing 52 times before you just might think they would give up

    • granpa.usthai December 3rd, 2015 at 22:27

hell, they’re still hard and heavy on the 1 term failure ONLY republiKon plan ….

WTF? -it’s all many of them have been able to do since coming to DC.

    • Imcanadian December 4th, 2015 at 16:35

I thought you all were exaggerating when you said over 50 times they’ve repealed because wouldnt intelligent people finally get the message and cease to waste taxpayers money? I can’t believe they are still trying to debunk this. Do they not believe that americans deserve health care?

  7. Foundryman December 3rd, 2015 at 20:06

Obviously, Ryan is on a merry-go-round that never stops.

  8. Obewon December 3rd, 2015 at 20:24

Nice beard on Imam (R) Paul Ryan! Where’s Ryan’s $1.5 T+ in required “Discretionary spending” budget-saving cuts, offsetting ‘The ACA reduces Federal Deficits by $1.5 t+’-CBO update from March 2010’s $1.3 T+ deficit reductions!
    FY15 Discretionary spending totals $1.1 T including $600 B defense spending!

  9. nola878 December 3rd, 2015 at 20:25

Hey Pauli…will that be before or after you take the family time that you deny others but demand for yourself or after?

    Fucking entitlement little bitch.

  12. jybarz December 3rd, 2015 at 20:45

A blank piece of paper is not a replacement, Numbskull.
50+ times attempt to repeal Obamacare proves how very stupid and truly useless are Republicans.

    • granpa.usthai December 3rd, 2015 at 22:21

correction: his plan is to ‘replace every word’ of Obamacare.

what can replace a word ?

  13. labman57 December 3rd, 2015 at 20:56

    The Ryan Plan:
“No health care coverage? It sucks to be you!”

  14. Chris December 3rd, 2015 at 21:57

Think about this for a minute. Obamacare was signed into law in 2010 and became operative in 2013. And Ryan believes the “problem is so urgent that, next year, we are going to unveil a plan to replace every word of ObamaCare.”

Six years after the law passed, Ryan plans to unveil a counter-plan.

What say you, Republicans? Is Ryan a man of action or what?

    • granpa.usthai December 3rd, 2015 at 22:24

that’s about right, as the primary goal and only plan of the republiKons is to make sure POTUS Obama is a 1 term failed president.

    • rg9rts December 4th, 2015 at 00:20

For them that is lightning speed

  15. granpa.usthai December 3rd, 2015 at 22:17

    replace every word?

can anybody remember when ALL we heard about Obamacare was the thousands and thousands of words? I think the Repubnutzies even called out the Speaker of the House on it?

well, just how many words is it going to take to replace every single word?

replace a word means adding a word?

  16. Shades December 3rd, 2015 at 22:19

    I’ll take that bet.

    • granpa.usthai December 3rd, 2015 at 22:33

I don’t know if POTUS Obama would be brave enough to veto anything sent to him what with it being the last year in office?

I’m pretty sure as to what POTUS2BHRC would do, but that’s something that’s nigh on impossible to put into words without being censored by drunken sailors.

      • Mensa Member December 3rd, 2015 at 23:05

        >> I don’t know if POTUS Obama would be brave enough to veto anything sent to him

How could you possibly not know that?

        Of course he would.

  17. Mensa Member December 3rd, 2015 at 22:59

Didn’t the conservatives carp and whine that Obamacare had too many words?

    So much reading!

    • Doug Bristow December 4th, 2015 at 00:35

Pelosi is the one that said you have to pass it to see whats in it.

      • Wendy Sibley December 4th, 2015 at 00:42

Exactly. Once people could see how it works, they realized that everything the Right said about it was a hysterical lie, and it’s been growing in popularity ever since.

      • Obewon December 4th, 2015 at 01:07

Because Conferencing the lower and upper chamber congressional bills through reconciliation, added GOP’s 350+ amendments and resolutions delivering a bipartisan success: ‘The ACA reduces Federal Deficits by $1.5 T+’-Nonpartisan CBO update from 2010’s $1.3 T+ budget savings.

  18. rg9rts December 4th, 2015 at 00:03

    52 time failure…

    • Imcanadian December 4th, 2015 at 16:28

How many times do they get to repeal? And to waste taxpayers money trying to screw the taxpayers out of healthcare?

I think this site is a little too smart for me. I have a general understanding of your politics but not enough to debate it. Other than I intensely dislike republicans. Some of what these people say doesn’t even sound like english!

      • rg9rts December 4th, 2015 at 18:51

They can repeal as much as they want…looks good to the voters back home ..and they know the president will veto it or the senate won’t approve …its just a game for them then they call it a week on wednesday and go home to be back to work the following tuesday …for $174,000 a year…what a racket

  19. bushputz December 4th, 2015 at 01:29

So what’s he going to replace it with?
10,535 pages of nothing but “Fuck you America”?

  20. Jerry December 4th, 2015 at 00:43

The Republicans in the Senate are going to be clobbered in 2016.

There are 34 Senate seats up in 2016, of which 24 are held by Republicans. The Democrats will only need to gain 4 seats to take control once again.

    Obamacare isn’t going anywhere…

    • Jenjen December 4th, 2015 at 00:57

      I wouldn’t count your chickens… Lol

      • SHowbiz December 4th, 2015 at 09:55

Why not? Look, the GOP is great, but the reality is, we can’t win this election. The numbers simply are not going to be there, no matter how much we want them to be. The further reality is that a split is coming, between Tea Party and moderate GOP. It’s practically unavoidable at this point, and you can thank Trump riling up the Tea Party for that.

You might want to take a look at the actual demographics of the race, instead of believing what networks like Fox would tell us. UNLESS the voting machines are rigged, the voters will be out as normal in a presidential election year. That means Dems. This year, the polling is very very clear, not to mention historical data. Dems will win the presidency. NO ONE disputes that fact, but a LOT of people on the GOP side simply don’t talk about it. It’s all, “we can win, if……” but the if isn’t materializing. HRC, even when all her problems are out there, still leads. Sanders leads even further in polls against GOP canididates. So you can write off the oval office. The math simply isn’t there for that race for the GOP to win. Heck, Sanders even polls well with a significant chunk of what was once solid GOP voters.

The senate is practically the same. Statistically, barring fixed voting, Dems are going to take that back as well.

The house is another matter, and will likely stay in GOP hands until 2020. At that point, it is forecast to turn as well.

State level is down the road, but main predictions are it will fall to dems for a few cycles by 2024. Then all the gerrymandering will be pushed out. The next best chance for full republican control is 2028, but even that isn’t likely.

Now, you are about to reply with this or that. I get it, you want to believe as much as I do. However, the party is going to split. One of the current GOP candidates simply won’t be able to resist 3rd party when they don’t get the nom. The 2 most likely are Trump and Cruz to split from GOP and run full Tea Party candidate, effectively splitting the GOP vote, and handing the win over. We can hope all we want, but reality is that there simply isn’t the numbers there to both get the white house and keep the senate. Even Reince has said as much, and he is the head of the GOP.

Going a step further, this is even worse: The GOP voters are split on who to vote for, and quite a few are polling that they won’t even vote if a Trump or Cruz is the nominee, because the moderates are sick of the extremes. The same thing happened to Dems not to many cycles ago, and plenty of times for both parties prior to that. The split will kill the party for at least 3-4 cycles, and the only way to stop that is to stop the extremes from being on the ticket. That simply isn’t going to happen, and it’s time to start being honest about what is bringing the party down. It isn’t the dems causing it, it’s an internal party problem.

I’m sorry but how does it work? Only certain seats come up for reelection?
