1 Male Suspect, 1 Female Suspect Dead
Police have killed two suspects in the San Bernardino shootings, one man and one woman.
A man and a woman connected to a mass shooting that left 14 people dead and 17 wounded in San Bernardino were killed in a firefight with police officers after a car chase Wednesday, authorities said.
The alleged assailants, who were not immediately identified, were chased through San Bernardino by a crush of city and federal law enforcement officers around 3 p.m.
San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said the suspects fled from a home in the Redlands as police arrived to search the residence. Officers pursued them back into San Bernardino, leading to a shootout that left both suspects dead and one officer wounded. The officer is expected to survive.

Tracey, I think it was a Christmas party for people who work with the disabled. It was the county’s public health branch of service. These people are true angels in the work they do. Thankfully I think my first impression was wrong in that I thought that it was disabled patients that were killed. Not that that makes it any better or worse. It is horrifying no matter what. :(

In California, only “featureless” rifles (no pistol grip, etc) are legal if the rifle has a detectable magazine. If the rifle has a grip that protrudes conspicuously behind the trigger, the magazine must require a tool to detach from the rifle. The police reported the two rifles were .223 (DPMS and a S&W M&P). BTW, .223’s are not “powerful” rifles and cannot be used for things like deer hunting. The suspects also had two handguns, but I didn’t catch the calibers (one was a S&W of some sort, but S&W makes a lot of different handguns).

If these mass killings continue, especially with muslims behind them which this one apparently is, they will virtually guarantee a republican president next year. Trump and company will waste no time in scapegoating and running a platform on “doing something about the muslim problem”…That is exactly what the republicans want. And it will work! Add to that, calling for gun control after every shooting like this will give the right another edge. The left hasn’t won an election with gun control on the table yet, and we won’t this time either.
