Officer Charged With Killing Laquan McDonald Free On $1.5 Million Bond
Officer Jason Van Dyke walked out of jail on bond money.
(AP Photo/Charles Rex Arbogast)Van Dyke, charged last Tuesday with first-degree murder of the black teenager, walked out of Cook County Jail just after 6 p.m.
The Chicago police officer who was being held for the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald was released on Monday evening, after posting the requisite 10 percent of his $1.5 million bail, or $150,000.
