Michael Moore Opens His Home To Refugees

Posted by | November 30, 2015 23:00 | Filed under: Politics

Filmmaker Michael Moore has opened his Michigan apartment to refugees, defying the governor who says he won’t accept them.

A little over a week ago, Moore posted an open letter to Michigan’s Republican governor Rick Snyder. He said, “I myself am going to defy your ban and will offer MY home in Traverse City, Michigan, to those very Syrian refugees you’ve decided to keep out.”

He denounced Snyder’s decision as “anti-American,” as well as “heartless and un-Christian.”

And since then, Moore has set up a site called “My Home Is Open,”which allows people to type in their name and address to send a message that they would welcome refugees with open arms into their home. Moore explained, “Your name and contact info will be kept private and will only be shared with the appropriate refugee agencies sanctioned and overseen by the Obama administration and its participating NGOs.”

    Civil Disobedience!
“Protest beyond the law is not a departure from democracy; it is absolutely essential to it.”

it’s ok 46…I already went on a emotional post about it quite a while back and told Obama to “fire up the mint and take care of business” (take care of the refugees) ….I just hope they don’t make the vetting process unecessarily delayed….but meanwhile open up more transitional housing here and get the processing underway…..we need more housing in this country anyway

Leave it to Moore to do what’s right while the powers that be fumble around looking for a lame excuse. Another good deed added to the long list of Michael Moore’s accomplishments.

And what did the good governor say?? Maybe he’ll activate the national guard and surround his house

certainly hope so – otherwise he’ll appear to be a two faced fkn ahole without a soul or any integrity.

Any political points that Snyder thought he would gain by banning the refugees has just been erased.

    Michael Moore is a genius.

I always thought that MOJO made a big mistake when they fired him.

This is great news. I am sure there are a lot of homeless people in Traverse City. How many can sleep at his house from now on?
