Friday’s shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado — resulting in two dead and nine wounded before the gunman surrendered — has prompted some states to execute short-term and long-term strategies to tighten security at their local clinics. I’m very sorry for the horrific threats PP has been suffering in the US. Working at PP in Brazil has been a privilege– offering much valued broad health care and education, working in partnership with the government health sector, facing welcome challenges in projects and clinic services and doing so in a lovely atmosphere of camaraderie. Wonderful times. The American supervisor that would come regularly to check the Program was like a good friend to us all.

70% of women want to leave abortion legal, is it odd that males are the loudest voice against an issue that has to do with women? If these ‘men’ are against abortion, maybe they should hand out condoms and lessen the need for abortions.

AND, we have the People who say they are Followers of Christ’s Teachings, attacking, killing, and destroying the PP People, Patients, and the facilities they work in. If Bernie Sanders gets to be president and gets to change the US health care system to universal care, there will no longer be need for separate clinics for reproductive health, it will all be done at hospitals or gynecologist’s offices like it should have been from the start.
That will end all the right wing violence and the republicans will have to find another cause to gin up the crazies over.
