Turkish fighter jets shot down a Russian warplane near the Turkey-Syria border on Tuesday morning after it allegedly violated Turkish airspace, the BBC reported. A Turkish military official told Reuters that Turkish F-16s warned the previously-unidentified jet about the airspace violations 10 times within the space of five minutes before shooting it down. However, the Russian…

So now we have more to worry about than terrorists.

Now we have a Super Power to worry about.

No. I think this may be a wake up call to Russia.

      • Scopedog November 24th, 2015 at 10:44

Agreed. Did Putin and company expect that something like this would not happen?

First the downing of the airliner, then the attacks on Russian journalists, and now this. Putin (and his useful idiots in the West) need to realize that they were stepping into the meat grinder and they can’t blame this on Obama or the West (much as some will try….).

We don’t, Turkey does though. I think NATO will try and stay out of this unless Russia escalates it too much. Russia is busy flexing it’s muscles in Syria and can’t really afford to escalate things too much with Turkey. I would look for Russia to use economic punishments on Turkey.

Russia’s Su-24 ignored “10 warnings in 5 minutes.” No more borscht for pilot ejection!

Yes, of course. Let’s get this WWlll started ASAP!!!

Russia has a history of purposely violating the airspace of other nations, as a means of testing their defensive response protocols. They approach Alaska, on occasion, just to provoke a response from our military. I’m not a bit surprised that their plane was shot down, or that they’re now claiming innocence, in the face of seemingly irrefutable proof. If the tracking data proves the Russian plane was in Turkish airspace, the Turks should turn that data over to the UN Security Council, for review. If it’s found that Russia IS in the wrong, here, they owe Turkey an apology and they need to better train their pilots on aircraft navigation.

Yep–and let’s not forget their history of shooting down jets, particularly civilian airliners….

        KAL 007 …………

    • halfwayin November 24th, 2015 at 12:39

Putin said the plane was “obviously no threat”.

He is accusing Turkey as being part of the terrorists.

An ARMED plane invades your airspace and ignores TEN warnings in FIVE minutes is “obviously no threat” ??? I DON’T think so, given the fact that those planes have been bombing the SCHEISSER out of EVERYBODY ……

Bush played 24 rounds of golf during his first term, also while our sons and daughters were fighting in Iraq.

        “Golf rounds.
By Knoller’s count, Obama played 186 rounds of golf during his presidency through Aug. 12, according to Yahoo! News. That number that has gone up a bit since then due to additional rounds on Martha’s Vineyard.Aug 23, 2014

Notice the date, there is an additional year’s worth on top of that..

        • whatthe46 November 25th, 2015 at 14:07

“Obama had 19 vacation days while bushy had 65 during the same time period while in office, as of Aug. 14. Bush played many fewer rounds as president — 24, mainly because he stopped in 2003, since it sent the wrong message when troops were fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq.”

and i’ll finish where you left off after Martha’s Vineyard: ” Obama had taken 19 vacations totaling 125 days so far while in office. but that’s still many fewer than George W. Bush’s 65 combined trips to his Texas ranch and his parents’ home in Kennebunkport, Maine, which totaled 407 days at the same point in his presidency.

“Dwight Eisenhower played almost 800 rounds during his eight-year
presidency, according to a study of his daily itinerary cited in Golf Digest — many times what Obama has played.

And Eisenhower is not even the No. 1 golf-playing president. Woodrow Wilson played nearly 1,200 rounds during his two terms.”

but, since he’s black you’ve got a problem with him.

        • OldLefty November 25th, 2015 at 18:02

What you leave out is how much less he played than Eisenhower, and how much less vacation he took than Bush AND Reagan.

So that leaves us with a big , “So?”

But this is why David Frum said, “Republicans have been Fleeced, Exploited And Lied To’ by a Conservative Entertainment Complex”

Vladimir Putin has called Turkey “accomplices of terrorists” and warned of “serious consequences” after a Turkish F-16 jet shot down a Russian warplane on Tuesday morning, the first time a Nato country and Moscow have exchanged direct fire over the crisis in Syria.
