Trump Pledges To Bring Back Torture

Posted by | November 22, 2015 12:31 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Tough guy Donald Trump says he’ll bring back enhanced interrogation techniques like waterboarding.

“I would bring it back, yes. I would bring it back,” Trump said on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.Trump said waterboarding is tame compared to what Americans face when they’re captured by Islamic extremists.

“You know, they don’t use waterboarding over there; they use chopping off people’s heads,” he said. “They use drowning people. I don’t know if you’ve seen with the cages where they put people in cages and they drown them in the ocean and they lift out the cage.”

“I think waterboarding is peanuts compared to what they’d do to us, what they’re doing to us, what they did to James Foley when they chopped off his head,” Trump added, referring to the slain U.S. journalist.

He said he would “absolutely bring back interrogation and strong interrogation.”

For a candidate to defend torture in his platform he must be more than an extreme right-winger. He must be out of his mind!

His hair ate his brain a long time ago I think.

      • Gina Bousquet November 22nd, 2015 at 17:20

He is so sold out to the Right he doesn’t know what to come up with anymore. Anything goes

I can’t believe all conservatives are pro torture. Are they, the majority of them?

        Holy fuck..

        • Gina Bousquet November 22nd, 2015 at 17:15

Actually he did confess. It is proven that people under torture make up the “truths” their torturers want to hear. I should know, we had to live with that reality in the resistance to our right-wing military dictatorship. Only, the level of horrid destruction in this photo is really unheard of.

    • Gina Bousquet November 22nd, 2015 at 13:40

Where was this? Who did that?

If Trump and his racist, xenophobic followers have their way, this country will evolve into that which we have sacrificed countless lives opposing — a ‘Big Brother-esque’, Latino-exiling, peaceful protestor-assaulting, mosque-destroying, torture for retribution-embracing, militant nation with an agenda driven by self-serving tea-chuggers, Christian conservative extremists, and gun-toting white nationalists who promote freedom of thought only so long as it does not conflict with their own ideas.

Their rationale: “We must take a collective crap on the U.S. Constitution in order to preserve it”.

Trump wants to bring back the fun and games…
This isn’t torture, just a couple of prison guards having a little fun..

After Trump loses/drops out, his fans will still believe that the “Shining City On The Hill” USA should not behave any differently than the bad guys.

After all, they still do not see the lessons of turning back the German Jews prior to WWII (which was approved by a majority of Americans and now seen as one of our darker hours), and sending American citizens of Japanese ancestry to internment camps (and soon after was seen again as a gross violation of rights).

The purpose of the original Franklin quote seems muddied, but I like the present take on it:
“Those who give up essential liberty for a little safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Does no Republican remember what the purpose of the Nuremberg trials was? Or the Geneva Conventions?

  7. Gina Bousquet November 22nd, 2015 at 13:46

Has The GOP ever had a more shameful campaign?

The Cheney Bush administration and their war crimes , the most effective recruiting tool ISIS ever had. Captain Combover wants more of the same.

I’m still waiting for the honorable Sean Hannity to get Waterboarded/Dunking for charity.

    http://obrag.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/seanhannity.jpg

On April 22, 2009, Charles Grodin appeared on Hannity’s Fox News show and asked Hannity, if he doesn’t believe waterboarding is torture, would he agree to be waterboarded. “Sure,” Hannity said. “I’ll do it for charity. I’ll let you do it. I’ll do it for the troops’ families.”

2405 days or Six years Seven months. The troops families are eagerly awaiting your sacred vow.

Well he already did, I am sure his English teachers are in constant torture. Well this ‘looseah’ will never be in the White House unless everyone else in the world dies.

  12. bpollen November 22nd, 2015 at 17:17

    You wanna torture Trump?

Lock him in a room without mirrors.

  13. Red Mann November 22nd, 2015 at 19:55

It looks more and more that Trump is running for Führer.

  14. Mike November 22nd, 2015 at 20:23

A little water boarding would actually be a welcome break from the torture of having to listen to Trump for another 11 months.

    • Red Mann November 22nd, 2015 at 20:24

      11 minutes is torture enough.

  15. maggie November 22nd, 2015 at 22:08

hey trump already tortures us….this election cycle runs from absolute crackers comedy to pure torture….

  16. William November 22nd, 2015 at 22:18

Trump and his fellow skid mark draft dodgers haven’t the slightest idea what they are talking about. If they had any decency, brains or sense of America, they would shut the f*ck up and listen to a conservative who knows something about torture.

  17. robert November 22nd, 2015 at 23:16

you learn from the best donald

  18. Böcker November 23rd, 2015 at 08:25

Anyone who says they are for torture should have it done on themselves first hand, so step up T rump, you are first.
