Obama: ‘Mistake’ To Send Troops To Fight ISIS In Syria

Posted by | November 16, 2015 11:50 | Filed under: Politics War & Peace

President Obama says it would be a “mistake” to send troops to fight ISIS in Syria.

“Not because our military could not march into … Raqqa and temporarily clear out ISIL, but because we would see a repetition of what we’ve seen before,” he said in a speech at the G-20 meeting in Turkey. “If you do not have local populations that are committed to inclusive governance and who are pushing back against ideological extremes, then they resurface.”

“Let’s assume we send 50,000 troops into Syria. What happens when there is a terrorist attack generated from Yemen? Do we then send more troops into there?”

Now that makes sense…let others do the ground work for a change

Yeah and this time lets not wipe out the entire police force, military and political leaders and create a huge sinkhole that will be filled by the negative forces who will gain power from filling that void.

McCain called it “wack-a-mole in the desert”. Back when he considered himself mid easts biggest nightmare.

No no no no no. You’re doing it wrong, Obama. Act like you want to go to war, then the GOP will come out against war.

    You’re welcome POTUS!

reverse sicologie or uh phisocology or uh let ’em think that so they will do this kinda stuff?

      I like that!

      I like that a lot!!

used it on the kids and now using it on the grandkids –

works really well in the 2-6 year old range but when they get into public school where they’re encouraged to think for themselves…..

(f’ing Public Education – should have kept the brats @ home where I could brainwash their little minds into living life MY WAY for ME)

      WTF – Sara did it.

Common sense, the right will explode and babble in tongues for days.

    GOOD CALL Mr. POTUS!
shows you’ve done a bit of research and planning (kinda like the raid on OBL).
might I suggest a full logistical backup of France’s Military actions by US?
not only will it encourage the French people to remain strong (as if they needed any help or encouragement?) it’ll also encourage some Americans to study up on the history of France/colonies/USA – 240+ years is a nice time of friendship.

OH! -and WHEN the GOPs start swinging away at that, you could always offer them some of THEIR very own FREEDOM FRIES without the ‘yellow’ mustard!

I consider myself to be rather conservative and I agree with Obama on this. There is no reason we should send ground forces into any Middle Eastern country (or any other foreign country for that matter). This should be resolved through financial sanctions. If a government does not do enough in our opinion to stop terrorist activities from the country then we should eliminate foreign aid to that country. We don’t need to tell people how they have to govern themselves, but if we are not happy with the results then there is no need for us to financially support them either.

Concentrate our armed forces on maintaining security here at home. Whatever the decision is on how we handle undocumented aliens currently in the country, surely everyone agrees that we must know who is coming across our borders. We need the capacity to check these people out before we let them into the country.

Fastest, Surest, Most Economical way to be sure who they are (or become) -general unconditional amnesty for those documented/undocumented ‘aliens’ living in the USA with immediate citizenship!

Reagan did it and though I have low regards as to his domestic and foreign policies – this was one of the few things I totally agreed with.

      IT WORKS!

not only does it BOOST the economy, it gives them a permanent ID.

If you cannot send is ground troops in Nigeria, why send ground troops in to Syria? Nigeria, is rich in oil and Boko Haram, is having a field day over there. All of those isis people are nuts and hell on a woman.
