Republicans Use Paris Attacks To Promote War

Being the opportunist that he is, Donald Trump tweeted this: https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/665524569961287680 Obama did in fact say that, but it had something called context attached to it. In an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s Good Morning America that was broadcasted Friday, President Obama said ISIS has been “contained.” “I don’t think they’re gaining strength,” Obama said…

Ironically, it’s our war machine that caused much of this Middle East hatred toward the west.
But then again, republicans believe that tax cuts for the rich trickle down to you and I.

That’s what they have been waiting for, early history shows that world powers needed war to increase money, land and population to hold others down, just a fact!

  3. Tom Kaye November 14th, 2015 at 21:58

    “Promote war”?

Uh, we’re already AT war. They declared it. There was nothing “nuanced” about it.

You just don’t have the guts to WIN it.

If liberals had been around to “nuance” the invasions of Europe and Japan we’d still be fighting WWII.

    • bpollen November 14th, 2015 at 22:22

I have heard and read Amerikans claim to be at war with the federal government. By your logic, we are also at war with reich-wing extremists, ammosexuals, doctor slaughtering anti-abortionists and their sympathizers, anti-christmas forces, secular humanist forces, Christians. All because people say “WAR!”

You might not be aware, but after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, we weren’t at war until we DECLARED war. The Constitution (you mighta heard about it…) says, Article One, Section Eight: “Congress shall have power to … declare War”

According to the Constitution (you really should look it up) some guy in another country doesn’t get to tell US when we are at war.

      • Tom Kaye November 15th, 2015 at 02:11

Yes, Congress has the power to “declare war” but the Constitution does not require any specific format or language, nor what for such legislation must have in order to be considered a “declaration of war”. The First Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in Doe v. Bush that the authorization by Congress to engage in military action against an enemy is enough to satisfy the requirements of Article 1, Section 8. Their ruling has never been reversed by the Supreme Court.

Thanks to George Bush, we are, as I said in my comment, already at war with Islamic Terrorism. It is only limp-wristed regressives that are keeping us from winning that war.

My comment stands as the brilliant statement it is, with perhaps one clarification. I could have said, They declared it FIRST.

        • bpollen November 15th, 2015 at 02:35

Brilliant? My, my, somebody has delusions of grandeur.

Where is Islamic Terrorism located? Who is the leader? What’s the command structure? What are their boundaries?

You DO realize that Islamic Terrorism is an attitude, an ideology, a world-view? Good luck winning the War on Ideas. With the War on Communism as a guide, it’ll be an real-life example of “We’ve always been at war with Eastasia.”

          • Tom Kaye November 15th, 2015 at 02:47

Oh my Gawd! You’re RIGHT!! Terrorists aren’t a country. They’re leaders are always changing – cause we keep killing them. They don’t have a conventional command structure and they recognize no boundaries.

Where have you been? Why aren’t you in the pentagon explaining this to everyone? We’ve been mistaken all along. There’s no war on terror. There are no “terrorists”. They’re only disaffected minorities who engage in workplace violence. And you can’t defeat disaffection except with affection.

They just need LOVE. /sarcasm sign (in case I was being too subtle).

Oh, and in case you missed 1989, we won the war against global communist. Name ONE country today that even pretends to be communist, besides China, which has Mao spinning in his grave.

I served during the cold war and there was only one man who believed we could win the cold war. And he was right.

            • bpollen November 15th, 2015 at 03:04

“Oh, and in case you missed 1989, we won the war against global communist. Name ONE country today that even pretends to be communist, besides China, which has Mao spinning in his grave.”

China, Cuba, Laos, North Korea, and Vietnam.

We won the war, but the most populous country in the world says that THEY are communist and I doubt they bow to your “expertise.”

              • whatthe46 November 15th, 2015 at 03:14

                  yep!

              • granpa.usthai November 15th, 2015 at 03:34

“he was right” was also the world’s greatest drug runner in human history, traded guns for hostages with today’s top terrorist groups, and quietly backed out of Beirut in 1983 with only 241 US casualties instead of the super phenomenal number of 4- four- FOUR – US casualties in Benghazi Benghazi BENGHAZI.

            • granpa.usthai November 15th, 2015 at 03:20

they’re leaders are always changing – cause we keep killing them?

    • StoneyCurtisll November 14th, 2015 at 23:57

“If liberals had been around to “nuance” the invasions of Europe and Japan we’d still be fighting WWII”…

Congratulations for winning the most ignorant statement of the decade~!

      • Tom Kaye November 15th, 2015 at 01:36

You comment contains no content, Troll. Tell me – and everyone else reading this – WHY my statement is “the most ignorant statement of the decade”.

But you can’t can you? You didn’t even have anything specific in mind when you wrote that, did you? You mind was blank. Empty. Nothing but an echo chamber.

        • whatthe46 November 15th, 2015 at 02:13

one he’s not a troll, you are. two, your party’s ignorance and greed is why there’s an ISIS. war mongering assholes.

          • Tom Kaye November 15th, 2015 at 02:25

Seriously? I told him exactly WHY he was a Troll. His comment had no content. I even told him what to do to redeem his comment from trolldom, but he hasn’t done it.

Then you come along and deliver the internet equivalent of an elementary school taunt of, “I know you are but what am I? I know you are but what am I?”

And, No, the reason there’s an ISIS is because the fool you voted for ARMED THEM. The Obama administration CREATED ISIS.

See? Notice how the things I say contain information you can look up, criticize, respond to. That’s what makes a comment NOT trolling and the person posting it not a Troll.

Now see if you can copy me and say something with substance that I can respond to.

            Betcha’ can’t.

                6 in one hand
half a dozen in the other?

            • bpollen November 15th, 2015 at 03:34

ISIS evolved from Al Qaeda In Iraq. Al Qaeda didn’t exist in Iraq until Bush & Company invaded Iraq. Al Qaeda in Iraq merged with other groups, and became Majlis Shura al-Mujahedin, and then right away merged with still other groups, becoming Islamic State in Iraq (ISI)… in 2006. Apparently, according to you, Obama is a time traveler and exerted his presidential powers 2 years before he became the President. I realize that Obama is powerful, but I doubt temporal relocation is amongst his enumerated powers.

        • granpa.usthai November 15th, 2015 at 03:13

you should read the REAL history of the Commander in Chiefs of The United States Armed Forces, look at their political parties – and their greatest domestic achievements first – then look at YOUR ignorant statement.

    • whatthe46 November 15th, 2015 at 02:11

uh, we started the fuckin’ war. remember bushy/dicky? WMD’s that never existed. the intel they had that we were going to be attacked that they dismissed. the murder of tens of thousand innocent men, women and children at the hands of the USA. attacking a country that had nothing what-so-ever to do with 9/11. the creation of ISIS. and you wonder why they are pissed.

    • granpa.usthai November 15th, 2015 at 03:06

uh – it were the liberals that won the wars – promoted social programs for Americans and united the workers in America. (greatest economic rise for the working and poor).

  4. robert November 14th, 2015 at 22:56

the republicans will jump on any bandwagon that has middle east war written on it.

    • granpa.usthai November 15th, 2015 at 03:02

hell, as much as their offshore banks are loaning to front the ‘other’ side, they ought to. 3 billion ($3,000,000,000) loan nets 3 trillion ($3,000,000,000,000) plus return – damn right they want an extended no financial limit engagement.

      • robert November 15th, 2015 at 19:34

war pays off very well when you know who is making the weapons / armor /planes /helicopters / ammo

did i leave anything out ?

  5. rg9rts November 15th, 2015 at 03:03

Promote war and rest assured their chicken hawk butts will be no where near the action

  6. Mike November 15th, 2015 at 07:41

We have troops fighting in 3 countries and a military presence in more than 130 others…but some think we need to attack somewhere else…???
The fact that close to 15 years after 9/11 we are less safe and the Middle East is less stable is directly because of our actions…The War on Terror is a total and complete failure, we need to step back, regroup, and develop alternative strategies.

  7. Mobi November 15th, 2015 at 15:07

Bush, cheeney, rumsfeld’s plan to destabilize IRAQ gave birth to ISIS in
the first place. ZERO terrorists under Saddam, let’s NEVER FORGET. Now
they think more and more and more and more weapons and more and more
and more war is somehow going to be the solution? NEVER going to work,
sorry, good luck with that failed plan. How’s it going so far? Not
only have we failed to “destroy” terrorism, we have only succeeded in
fueling it to epic proportions. More and more and more guns in every
citizens hands going to create a viable solution? Bin Laden’s plan to
divide and conquer our nation has pretty much succeeded and already
BANKRUPTED us in both blood and treasure, our idiot leaders fell for his
plan it hook line and sinker..World war 3 has been a slow burn ever
since. HELLO? All blame aside, what an ACTUAL solution? Because that’s
where we need to put the focus. I fear it may already be too late for
this country, but I remain optimistic that out of the ashes and total
    demise peace may finally arise.

  8. Hey Trump November 15th, 2015 at 15:30

Bush’s FAILED “war on terror” continues to take it’s toll not only on us but
our allies. Results so far? Our country nearly bankrupt and totally
divided, just like bin laden wanted. War on terror, war on drugs, war
on anything ever going to be a viable solution? Any of those things
WORKING so far? Yes of course these things have to be handled now that
pandora’s box has been opened, but the real focus need to be put on
SOLUTION that does not continue to make things WORSE in the long run.
Start thinking folks, in the end we are all have to learn to live on
this planet together. More hate, more fear, more weapons, more violence
REALLY the answer? One thing for sure: REACTIONARY testosterone
filled FEARFUL “kill and destroy” by means of “kill and destroy”
responses have NOT worked thus far. They likely never will.
