Trump Suggests Starbucks Boycott Over Holiday Cups

Posted by | November 10, 2015 07:48 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

Great Christian Donald Trump wants a boycott of Starbucks because their cups aren’t Christmasy enough.

While Starbucks has featured snowflakes, reindeer, and other seasonal symbols on its cups during the holiday season, this year’s red cup features a minimal design. Some Christians took the design as a sign of a so-called war on Christmas and political correctness.

“No more ‘Merry Christmas’ on Starbucks. No more,” Trump said at an event in Springfield, Illinois on Monday. “I wouldn’t buy.”

…Trump said that while the coffee giant is among his tenants at Trump Tower in Manhattan, he wouldn’t care if supporters took their money elsewhere.

“Maybe we should boycott Starbucks,” Trump said…

The Republican candidate added that he is a Christian and would like to see more mentions of the holiday in businesses.

“I guarantee if I become president, we’re going to be saying ‘Merry Christmas’ in every store,” he said. “The happy holiday, you can leave that over in the corner.”

So says the guy whose pastor says he hasn’t attended church in years, the guy who pulls a Palin when asked to name his favorite bible verse (all of them, Katie). Maybe they should flavor their coffee with frankincense.

I wish they’d flavor their coffee with strychnine.

      • Larry Schmitt November 10th, 2015 at 13:07

Do they make peppermint flavored strychnine?

  2. Larry Schmitt November 10th, 2015 at 08:12

I don’t drink Starbucks, so I don’t care. But as usual, tRump is full of it when he says “no more Merry Christmas!” You can see here http://www.eonline.com/news/714222/this-is-how-starbucks-red-holiday-cups-have-changed-over-the-years the previous ten years’ cups. Very secular, nothing remotely religious. Christmas isn’t even mentioned. This extra publicity just means more profits for Starbucks. Wouldn’t surprise me if tRump is a major shareholder.

As a matter of fact, I’m going to make it a point to go and get some Starbucks tomorrow. I will say my name is “Happy Holidays”. There will be pictures. Pictures that will be emailed to Trump.

“I guarantee if I become president, we’re going to be saying ‘Merry Christmas’ in every store,”
So he’s going to sign an executive decree that everyone has to say merry Christmas? Or what, they get coal? Their taxes go up? Does this ass think for even one second before he says anything? Ever?

    • Maxx44 November 10th, 2015 at 09:16

The RWNJs say they want smaller and smaller government yet this clown wants to dictate how people greet one another around Christmas time?

    • Jodie November 10th, 2015 at 13:05

He’s pandering to the Christian crack-pots out there.

Nice to know that ferret head has prioritized his plans for America.

    • Larry Schmitt November 10th, 2015 at 09:14

Sad part is, he probably got plenty of cheers when he said that. His followers are as stupid and shallow as he is.

  5. labman57 November 10th, 2015 at 09:17

Yeah, boycott a coffee house chain for not putting snowflakes on their cups.
    Petty proposals for petty minds.

    • mistlesuede November 10th, 2015 at 09:26

I was not aware that snowflakes were Christianny? :)

      • Red Mann November 10th, 2015 at 21:21

Well, they do call frozen embryos snowflakes.

        • mistlesuede November 11th, 2015 at 10:37

You’re right! That must be it. LOL :)

      Asshat.

Exactly. Like the song I linked says, “it’s a farce.”

      • Landscapegoat November 10th, 2015 at 14:38

I thought that was Frank Burns from MASH for a second.

These stupid spambot messages that keep popping up here, I checked the links on a couple of them (I didn’t click on them, I’m not stupid), and one showed a location of Christmas Island, the one on this page shows Greenland.

I think I saw Starbucks coffee at Costco last time I was there. Guess I’ll have to try it next time.
    Happy Holidays everyone !

  9. Um Cara November 10th, 2015 at 10:40

“I guarantee if I become president, we’re going to be saying ‘Merry Christmas’ in every store,” he said.

Because dictating citizen’s greetings is totally a presidential power. Just like in North Korea.

How many times a day will Trump require us to genuflect on his image?

    • Red Mann November 10th, 2015 at 21:16

But, but, it’s Obummer who’s the tyrannical, Muslim, American-hating dictator who’s taken away all our Freedumbs!!11!!

  10. Cyndy Williams-Wolf November 10th, 2015 at 10:42

    What a tool.

  11. The Original Just Me November 10th, 2015 at 11:11

Yup, we sure do need Mr. Trump Bottom protecting our country. I have only had one mouth full of Star Bucks coffee in my life. It ended up back in the cup. So I don’t have to protest them.

  12. Guy Lauten November 10th, 2015 at 11:24

Yeah, right. People trying to wake up and get their caffeine addiction sated will choose to be “politically correct to the right wing” and not get Starbucks coffee. After all, McDeath’s coffee is just as good, right? Ahem.

  13. William November 10th, 2015 at 12:03

    Happy now?

  14. MyDogsAreSmarterThanYou November 10th, 2015 at 12:10

More pandering to the retarded, “Christian” Taliban, terrorist GOP base.
You’re going to force private businesses to promote a religion? Mmmhmm, whatever.

    • pinballsdoll November 10th, 2015 at 12:12

he’s a puppet, just like the rest of them

    • Landscapegoat November 10th, 2015 at 14:36

      change that to ‘teatarded’

  15. pinballsdoll November 10th, 2015 at 12:15

this is such an over reach of faux outrage

  16. Kevin777 November 10th, 2015 at 12:33

Oh my, this is Trump so overtly pandering to the Christian conservative base who he needs to win Iowa and become the GOP nominee. Does anybody trtuly believe deep down inside Trump gives a rat’s arse if they use Happy Holidays? That’s a good idea actually though, just to irritate Christian conservatives I’m going to say Happy Holidays y’all every time I can out in public, say with passion too.

  17. tracey marie November 10th, 2015 at 13:21

Will you make an unconstitutional law designating xtianity the national religion and everyone has to join or die? Dumbass

  18. Jodie November 10th, 2015 at 13:21

I’ve read comments on Joshua Feuerstein’s page (I read only to see what kind of hate/stupidity he spreads…) by employees of Starbucks that say they are allowed to greet however they like, Christmas greetings included. It’s not that Starbucks is anti-Christmas, they just don’t want to exclude people. Even on Trump’s post, there are many negative comments. I think people are just tired of the hate coming from the conservative side, especially the younger generation.

  19. Gina Bousquet November 10th, 2015 at 13:43

Mandatory Merry Christmas. Lol. What an a$$!

    • Red Mann November 10th, 2015 at 21:14

You will say “Merry Christmas” we have ways of making you.

  20. olcurmudgeon November 10th, 2015 at 13:47

I think Starbucks should response by printing Eid design cups.
