Kentucky Governor-Elect Matt Bevin took a victory lap Thursday on Fox & Friends, vowing to dismantle Kynect in the name of “hope.” No, really. He told Fox hosts that his election was because he brought hope to Kentuckians who must really hate having access to health care. Hope. What a cynical SOB. Here’s what’s in store…

I hope he wastes no time to tank his states economy and make thousands of Kentuckians unemployed.

Trust that the first Matt will show up and you will not be surprised when your state starts to look like bankrupt Kansas.

Maybe he should wait for the recount before he starts to destroy his state.

Wonder if the fools who voted for him will feel the pain when they lose their health care subsidies, and will they understand the connection???

Will people ever learn not to vote against their own best interests?

I am a Kentuckian. Ky, along with the rest of the South, is a strange place where racism, xenophobia, homophobia, and sexism dominate the voting patterns of all but a small liberal/moderate minority. Two things about last Tuesday’s Ky election, specifically, and recent elections throughout the South, generally, puzzle many people: First, Why on earth do some voters vote for candidates who oppose government programs that serve their interests? Second, Why do other people sit on their lazy asses and refuse to vote when so much is at stake? Truth is the majority population in Red States values its bigotry and cultural hates more than economic prosperity and social justice. I wonder how long progressives will continue to fight the battle for these willfully ignorant and ungrateful populations?

” … the majority population in Red States values its bigotry and cultural hates more than economic prosperity and social justice. ” — Is it any wonder why so many think they are a backward culture.

By the way: Kentucky Is NOT one of the nineteen states that allow recall elections for state officials. Doubt it would matter anyway. The same people would vote once again, and the do nothings and willfully ignorant would repeat their folly!
