Blair Admits Iraq War Caused ISIS, Says ‘I’m Sorry’

Everything is good now, because after hundreds of thousands of casualties, ruined lives and trillions of wasted dollars, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has said, “I’m sorry.” It’s all good now.

n the exchange, Blair repeatedly says sorry for his conduct and even refers to claims that the invasion was a war ‘crime’ – while denying he committed one.

Blair is asked bluntly in the CNN interview, to be broadcast today: ‘Was the Iraq War a mistake?’

He replies: ‘I apologise for the fact that the intelligence we received was wrong.

‘I also apologise for some of the mistakes in planning and, certainly, our mistake in our understanding of what would happen once you removed the regime.’

Challenged that the Iraq War was ‘the principal cause’ of the rise of Islamic State, he said: ‘I think there are elements of truth in that.

‘Of course you can’t say those of us who removed Saddam in 2003 bear no responsibility for the situation in 2015.’

In the ‘trial by TV’, respected US political broadcaster Fareed Zakaria accuses him of being President Bush’s ‘poodle’ over the conflict. Blair’s confession comes a week after The Mail on Sunday published a bombshell White House memo revealing for the first time how Blair and Bush agreed a ‘deal in blood’ a year before the invasion

‘Of course you can’t say those of us who removed Saddam in 2003 bear no responsibility for the situation in 2015.’…………lol, have you not seen the 2016 republican candidates, let alone the idiot who occupied the office before President Obama. I guess your still just being the good poodle.

American and British Colonialism at work and saying sorry for all the lost lives and ruined lives just doesn’t cut it but at least this 1 said sorry.

I might tune in to see that at 1PM just to see him squirm.
Even water boarding would not be enough for him or shrub.

Hundreds of thousands are dead. A monstrous gang of criminals so savage that it has been condemned by Al Qaeda basically controls Syria. Meanwhile the hypocritical right wingers in Washington DC along with the useless idiots who voted for them demand “justice” for 4 dead at Benghazi.

They wrecked the economy, they committed what is arguably the biggest foreign policy mistake in the history of our republic and some in this country want to put Republicans in charge again? It is beyond my comprehension how to measure the extent to which someone must have their cranium in their anus, in order to believe that Republicans are fit to govern.

      Well said, as usual.

Exactly, he may have been a tyrant but he kept the middle east in check!

      • robert October 25th, 2015 at 12:34

as i have always said, you will never have peace in that part of the world but at least we had someone who kept iran honest ( somewhat ) ISIS was never in the news.

That’s why Reagan was buddy-buddy with him.

It’s the old pattern of US foreign policy: “He may be a sunnuvabitch, but he’s OUR sunnuvabitch.”

He should apologize for plotting with Bush to invade Iraq a year in advance, according to one of Hillary’s e-mails! Too bad Bush and Darth Cheney will never apologize for their actions!

    • whatthe46 October 25th, 2015 at 17:45

no they won’t apologize. but, you can bet your sweet bottom they are screaming their damn heads off that he opened his mouth. and faux news is having a shit fit too. and they wanted her emails right? well they got it. hook, line and sinker.

WAR CRIMINAL! Who will never see justice…the blood and suffering on his hands!

How many innocent lives lost? How many dollars spent? How many lies told to justify it? ‘Sorry’ doesn’t begin to address the deceptions and criminality surrounding that debacle and all of the evil that’s come out of it. He’s more than a day late and more than a dollar short. He ought to be in a cell next to the others who were behind that mess.

His apologies should have been made from behind prison bars. Of course the W regime should also be right there in prison with TB where they could all rot…

Sure Saddam was brutal but that’s what it took to keep that region in check, when Bush and his cabal took him out they created a power vacuum and destabilized the region, Powell said you break it you buy it and the GOP bought it for America.

    • cwazycajun October 27th, 2015 at 10:18

but ..but how can that be it was all Obama’s fault we went into Iraq …like it was all Obama;s fault we screwed up so disastrously after katrina and the financial melt down he was the very cause of it oh and Clinton too don’t forget her oh I mean him..and viet nam he provoked us into that too ya gotta believe me cause my mommy and uncle dick told me so….George bush

  13. cecilia October 26th, 2015 at 19:26

can I just say, F YOU, buddy!

I’m no flippin’ genius and i KNEW there was something that STANK about this whole thing. Going to war should be avoided at all costs – used as a last resort when every other solution has been used. And bush-baby was DESPERATE to go to war. DESPERATE!!!! The look on his stupid face (which I will NEVER forget) was goofy happiness at the very Thought of going to war. He was drooling over it, salivating like a dog over a ham bone

    and this punk is “apologizing”.

I’d love to beat the living shite out of him

  14. Tim Coolio October 26th, 2015 at 22:20

Him and Bush and his cabal destabilized the middle east and now when things get bad there it’s just more blood on their hands.
