On Thursday, House Republicans introduced a bill which would completely eliminate the federal tax on gun silencers and would also greatly weaken licensing requirements that make the devices more difficult to buy than most firearms.

Why did they feel the need to do this? To protect the hearing of gun owners, they say.

The Hearing Protection Act of 2015, which was proposed by GOP Representative Matt Salmon of Arizona, would remove silencers– also known as suppressors–from the National Firearms Act (NFA), instead putting them in the same regulatory category as long guns….READ MORE at LiberalAmerica

Perfect, then rational killers can express their rights on many republicans before being caught

  2. Tommie October 24th, 2015 at 17:25

To be followed by mandatory gagging of victims so they can’t yell when shot.

and the burying of the bodies begins before anyone knows they’re dead and missing. or this: “the bodies of 4 were found with 5 gunshot wounds each in their Brentwood apartment at 6pm today. residence say they never heard any shots being fired.” all was quiet on their saintly street.

    • The Original Just Me October 24th, 2015 at 22:34

Next thing is required oiling of your shovel so it won’t squeak in the dirt while you are burying the bodies.

On the plus side you’d be able to do a drive-by shooting after 10 pm and not get charged with a costly noise violation.

I guess personal defense and standing your ground is best done quietly? If you’re at the shooting range hearing protection is standard. If you’re not at the range this just provides stealth. What does stealth have to do with personal protection? Besides where in the beloved 2ndA does it mention the right to silencers? Just like the Benghazi committee, can the ammosexuals just drop the pretense now?

    • Larry Schmitt October 24th, 2015 at 18:35

Stealth has to do with killing someone, not protection. That crap about protecting the hearing is just that, crap.

Nope. that’s not possible for them to do.

  7. Maxx44 October 24th, 2015 at 18:44

You can argue all you want about the right to own guns, but there is absolutely neither a right nor a valid reason to own a silencer.

  8. robert October 24th, 2015 at 18:53

    Not gun control …..Quieter guns

    Nice contribution gop

    • The Original Just Me October 24th, 2015 at 22:31

  9. veggiedude October 24th, 2015 at 18:58

So responsible gun owners don’t know about wearing noise cancelling headsets?

    • The Original Just Me October 24th, 2015 at 22:30

Shsssss, that ‘s a well kept secret.

  10. labman57 October 24th, 2015 at 19:10

Silencers should be standard issue with all handguns so that patriotic American family members can shoot each other without disturbing the neighbors.

    • The Original Just Me October 24th, 2015 at 22:29

We need to build a LARGE room with three foot thick walls. Give each Registered Republican a hand gun and 500 rounds, We then usher them in and say, ” It’s Paint Ball Time ! “

  11. amersham46 October 24th, 2015 at 19:36

It was a dark and stormy night , and the police are looking for an active shooter with a silencer equipped handgun , I bet they would be impressed pulling that duty

Nothing will change unless we get to the point where
Americans say ENOUGH! and we end up with the whole
country being against the NRA, we need to restore
some sanity in this country, I want my country back!

    • The Original Just Me October 24th, 2015 at 22:26

Hey, That’s their slogan, Take our Country Back. From Who ?

      • Tommie October 24th, 2015 at 23:45

That nigg*r in the white house, i got the memo in my hand!

Come Jan. 2, 2017, We all sing, Thank God and Greyhound their Gone.

  14. BigDumbWhiteGuy October 25th, 2015 at 01:16

Conservatives want to make silencers easier to buy in order to protect gun-owner’s hearing? Earplugs have been around for almost 3 millennia, apparently these nitwits didn’t get the memo.

    • Dwendt44 October 25th, 2015 at 15:53

They are unattractive, and make your ears itch.

  15. William October 25th, 2015 at 03:08

Because you never know when you’re going to have to shoot a mime.

  16. Dwendt44 October 25th, 2015 at 15:56

I visited a large well known online gun store. You’d be surprised how many handguns come with threaded barrels.

  17. Bunya October 25th, 2015 at 22:36

Well, yeah! After all, you don’t want no pesky pedestrians or neighbors calling the cops, bringing attention to the killing.
