Chafee Has Way To End Wars: Women Withhold Sex

In Lincoln Chafee’s concession speech, he talks about how women can prevent war.

Chafee’s speech began like a normal concession speech: “As you know I have been campaigning on a platform of Prosperity Through Peace. But after much thought I have decided to end my campaign for president today. I would like to take this opportunity one last time to advocate for a chance be given to peace.”

But immediately after that announcement, things took a bit of a detour. “Since today is all about women’s leadership it reminds me of one of my favorite Greek plays; “Lysistrata,” a comedy from about 400 BC byAristophanes.”

“Now in that play, a group of women, fed up with the warmongering of their husbands, agree to — how do I say this politely — withhold their favors until peace returns. And it worked! They ended the Peloponnesian Wars!” he said.

Okay, Lincoln, your time on stage, as brief as it was, is over now. We don’t have to listen to you anymore. Go back to doing whatever it is that ex-governors do. Maybe a gig with Fox as a commentator? It’s worked for a couple of other ex-governors.

These idiots continue to prove what a laughing stock this country has become around the world

No wonder he didn’t take off as a presidential candidate.

    Wow.
    I mean… just… wow.

    Dear Lincoln Chafee,
In the future, please base your ‘awesome’ ideas on history instead of comedic plays.

(Hint: From what I’ve read, withholding sex had nothing to do with entering peace times.)

Because a large group of sexually frustrated men are likely to be more passive and peaceful?

Aristophanes was the first feminist and the moral of that story was that women were strong and smart and could run things as well as men when they worked together.

The sex part was the comedy element and it had to have a comedy element because he was making fun of the rulers and that was a dangerous thing to do at that time.

Maybe he assumed that people understood Greek plays or maybe he wanted us to storm the Acropolis and lock ourselves in until republicans gave in to our demands LOL.

other than 2/3 of candide, the rest of the comments, so far, are by ignorant and very poorly read, quasi uneducated folks. Old Lyssy was the genius of her day and, although some humor was used, this play was not a comedy.

You didn’t think the part about the old guys walking around on-point was funny?
