Anomaly has the story at FreakOutNation.

A 2002 memo shows that former President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair reached a deal to invade Iraq nearly a year before the war began….

Occupy Democrats reports:

Newly released information indicates that then-President George W. Bush had reached a secret deal with British Prime Minister Tony Blair to invade Iraq – nearly a year before the invasion took place. A secret meeting took place in April 2002, where Colin Powell wrote that “He [Blair] will present to you the strategic, tactical and public affairs lines that he believes will strengthen global support for our common cause,” Powell wrote, adding that the prime minister has the skills to “make a credible public case on current Iraqi threats to international peace,” according to Newsmax…

Blair told voters at the time, ‘We’re not proposing military action’ – a statement in direct contrast to what the email now reveals.

The memo from Secretary of State Colin Powell to President George Bush, was written on March 28, 2002, a week before Bush’s famous summit with Blair at his Crawford ranch in Texas, according to the Mail.

Powell tells Bush at the time that Blair ‘will be with us’ on military action.

    Is anyone surprised?

  2. Warman1138 October 19th, 2015 at 14:22

Hmmmmm, could this be more evidence for a crimes against humanity court type thing? Lots of outfits were gearing up for the war before it was even brought up. At least two business conventions of military related companies I read about in the papers at the time.

Shame on them. All the dead, for oil.

  4. mistlesuede October 19th, 2015 at 15:16

This implicates Powell as more involved than he would have you believe. I feel like swearing right now but I don’t know what this site allows. Suffice to say this entire cabal are reckless SOB’s.

    • Gina Bousquet October 19th, 2015 at 15:27

I had Powel as a honorable man, pressed by circumstances, but he was in it much longer than we knew.

      • mistlesuede October 19th, 2015 at 15:44

        Yes. Very disappointing.

      • Robert Kennedy October 20th, 2015 at 17:49

He was in charge of the My Lai cover up. He was a good man only in comparison to his superiors in the Bush administration. There were NO honorable men in that disastrous gang.

        • Gina Bousquet October 20th, 2015 at 17:56

I did not know about My Lai, his role in the WMD thing disappointed me a lot, but I guess you’re right…

            Vietnam murder coverup

          • Robert Kennedy October 20th, 2015 at 18:59

It shocked me when I learned of it years ago. But that must be one of the reasons Republicans hate Hillary, for exposing their secrets.

            • Gina Bousquet October 20th, 2015 at 19:04

Well, the sole fact of her being a strong Democrat is enough for them to hate her I guess.

    • Gindy51 October 19th, 2015 at 16:51

And now we all know why he would never be able to run for president….

      • mistlesuede October 19th, 2015 at 17:13

He had to know the real truth would come out exposing his hand in it and it would destroy his chances. It’s a shame, because I always thought he was such a good man, even though he “hung out with the wrong people.”

        • fredoandme October 20th, 2015 at 20:35

these were the people with whom he CHOSE to hang out.

Add to this the even more devious meetings Cheney had with the oil and energy executives after he and Bush took power. THAT is where the Iraqi invasion planning all started.

    • whatthe46 October 19th, 2015 at 20:53

bush sr. wanted to invade but, had no reason and couldn’t implement it.

Cheney’s bankrupt Halliburton owed Dick $30 M deferred compensation/Bribes, but had just $30 M cash on hand, because HAL CEO Cheney bankrupted the firm and had to restate all 5 years of Cheney’s poor leadershit.

He sounds a lot like that female candidate on the Republican ticket, Carly Fiorina, who deep sixed three companies.

      • Suzanne McFly October 19th, 2015 at 21:11

Okay, that makes sense but why was it top secret? They wanted to hide the fact we were conned?

        • Obewon October 19th, 2015 at 21:22

          But of course! ‘U.S. record $147/brl & $5/gal gas primary cause was GWB’s $6 T+ faux oil war’-TOP SECRET. Jeb / Cheney’16~

      • NIGHTWATCH ABCP ........ October 20th, 2015 at 14:55

This information would have been at the TOP SECRET//SI//ORCON//NF level…………

    • whatthe46 October 19th, 2015 at 20:50

i thought about that, however, i also thought that out of millions of emails, maybe she missed it. only she can tell us.

    • Paul Harbeck October 25th, 2015 at 22:22

I don’t think she even knew about it, they only came up when they went looking for her’s on the servers and found all the ones Bush thought he had deleted.

Two former CIA officers say GWB / Cheney squelched top-secret intelligence ‘No Iraq WMD reconstituted or possessed since GHWB Sr’s 1991 invasion’, and a briefing by CIA Director George Tenet, 6 months before invading Iraq! http://www.salon.com/2007/09/06/bush_wmd/ U.K. MI6 and CIA were told before invasion that Iraq had no active WMD! http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/mar/18/panorama-iraq-fresh-wmd-claims

And here you thought Powell was one of the good guys, even though he was the officer who oversaw the quashing of the My Lai massacre. Now we see he was okay with Iraq a year in advance.
