Clinton, Sanders Up Post-Debate

Posted by | October 16, 2015 10:00 | Filed under: Politics

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are the beneficiaries of the first Democratic debate.

A new NBC News/Survey Monkey poll finds Hillary Clinton leading the Democratic presidential race with 45%, followed by Bernie Sanders at 31%. That’s a three point jump for Clinton, and a two point uptick for Sanders.

The loser was Vice President Joe Biden, who has 10% and hasn’t decided on a run, a slide of five points over the last month.

I think Biden missed the boat on purpose.

He is still lingering out there but it looks a little dimmer each day he waits.

He had no heart in it from the beginning

Does that mean Original is coming too?

Yes, he has been invited. He could use our humor and comfort and we can use his wit and charm.

I am sure the desire and interest is there and he definitely has the support. But, there is no Fire in the furnace.

maybe he is waiting until the last minute to save money. The 5 on stage have already spent a lot of money.

      • Suzanne McFly October 16th, 2015 at 16:29

Maybe, but that will make for a lot of work later just to catch up.

I always loved that Raphael fresco, The School of Athens. It was on the cover of my Art History textbook my first semester in college. It always reminded me of how modern the ancient Greeks were for their time and how far the world fell during the Dark Ages.

Imagine just how far advanced the human race would have been if the world had just continued on uninterrupted by religion from that point? Our grandparents would not have had outhouses, our great-great-great-great-great-grandparent would have had indoor plumbing because the Ancient Romans were already starting to do it at that time. Apparently anything made by pagans was torn down or left to rot.

Art certainly would have been different since most subjects were forbidden except for religious iconography all during the Dark Ages.

we would have had vomitoriums as well, indoor!

LOL, actually that was the word for exit door on a Colosseum, or arena of some sort. Still there is no doubt that during the age of conspicuous consumption that raucous party goers did indeed puke at banquets then go back for more.

Conspicuous consumption is what America’s 1% is engaging in now so we are getting close to the end stage of the Roman Empire here.

I am not as cynical as you, but I do understand.

Unfortunately, it is very hard to not be cynical living in Louisiana. Things are soooooo bad already and they are predicting that Diaper Dave Vitter is going to win the governor’s election next week. Sigh, can’t get out of here fast enough LOL

              • tracey marie October 16th, 2015 at 12:38

Vitter,I really can’t stand that pustule of hypocrisy

                • CandideThirtythree October 16th, 2015 at 16:15

I can’t either, I can’t see his smarmy, grinning mug without wanting to puke.
