McCarthy Drops Out Of Speaker Race

Posted by | October 8, 2015 12:37 | Filed under: Politics

Kevin McCarthy has bowed to the far-right and ended his quest for Speaker of the House.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy has dropped out of the race to succeed House Speaker John Boehner, in a shocking move that reflected his inability to gather the support of the Republican caucus.

Kevin McCarthy announced Monday that he will run for Speaker of the House, in a bid to succeed the retiring John Boehner.

The move comes as House Republicans were in a closed-door meeting to select their nominee for speaker and came without any warning. Boehner has postponed the vote.

And the members of the House GOP Caucus reacted… well, let’s just say they don’t exactly have their contingency plans lined up:

As shocked members left the room there was a sense of total disarray, with no clear path forward and no set date for a new vote. Representative Peter King, Republican of New York, said that in dropping out of race, Mr. McCarthy told the room, “I’m not the one to unify the party.”

Gee, ya think?

A group of about 40 hard-line House conservatives announced Wednesday night that they would support Representative Daniel Webster of Florida, making it unclear whether Mr. McCarthy could assemble the 218 votes on the floor that he would need to be elected later this month.

Maybe it has something to do with the good job Grayson is doing–going after the ones who said Benghazi WAS MEANT TO DAMAGE HILLARY.

Kevin Mac knew he couldn’t do the impossible….
Unite the GOP is a task no sane person would take on..
And after he spilled the beans on the GOP “Benghazi operation” he was toast in the RNC operation..

Maybe it is just a conspiracy move to bolster support for John the Drunk.

    McCarthy: I QUIT!

R-TARDS: You can’t quit we haven’t humiliated you yet.

    McCarthy: I QUIT ANYWAY!

    R-Tards: Okay, go fuck yourself.

      That’s certainly possible.

Another theory being spread around is that McCarthy’s enemies in the GOP were ready to leak news of an extramarital affair.

The House GOP — out of the frying pan of ineptitude and into the fire of unbridled lunacy.

Hypocrite Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy drops pants, looses speakership. http://crooksandliars.com/2015/10/rep-kevin-mccarthy-drops-out-speakers-race Next-up no repub meets GOP expectations, so hypocrites create new role for reamer of the house.

OK, it’s fun to laugh at the GOP.

But in a two-party system, it’s very bad for America when one party is completely dysfunctional.

  11. The Original Just Me October 8th, 2015 at 22:42

Amazing, the Republicans actually found someone SO Rotten the they couldn’t even win a RAT RACE.

  12. The Original Just Me October 8th, 2015 at 22:45

Does anybody have any doubt that the Republican Party is Imploding ?

  14. pmbalele October 8th, 2015 at 23:08

I told TPs and Repubs that their god was cursing them. Now they do not have a leader. These people were abused when young and therefore seek these positions to avenge themselves for being abused. But I am surprised women vote for these morons.

My last pay check was 7976 dollars working 9 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 17k for months now and she works about 19 hours a week. I can’t believe how easy it was once I tried it out.

    This is what I do…

Jason Chaffetz says the party needs to be united so that they can “take the fight to the President, to the Senate, and to the American people.” There you have it people. House Republicans don’t want to actually govern, they want to fight everybody.
