Huckabee: Pope Should Fire ‘Elitist’ Staffers Who Distanced Him From Kim Davis

Posted by | October 7, 2015 19:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

Maybe the Pope should fire the staffers who granted Kim Davis time with him, but not according to Mike Huckabee.

Huckabee, who says he spoke with Davis about the meeting at the Values Voter Summit, insisted in an interview with Iowa talk radio host Jan Mickelson yesterday that Davis and the pope “visited privately, just the two of them, for about 15 minutes” and that it is “elitist” forces in the Vatican who are trying to downplay the pope’s support for Davis’ cause. Outside of that “elitist world,” he said, people realize that Davis’ case could mark “the beginning of the criminalization of Christianity.”

“Now, why the Vatican is trying to downplay this meeting, the only thing I can figure is that many of the very liberal elements, not only of the media, but in some cases of the Catholic Church want to distance themselves because in their elitist world, Kim Davis is an unpopular figure,” Huckabee said. “But I’m telling you, wherever she goes and wherever I see people, in every airport I get on a plane and people say, ‘Thanks for standing up for Kim Davis.’ It’s very different because people realize that this is the beginning of the criminalization of Christianity if we don’t stand up to it…

…“I’d like to think that at some point the pope might start reading the press clips and maybe fire some of the people who are trying to represent him. I know, as a candidate, if I had press people that were out there misrepresenting my views, they wouldn’t be my press people any longer.”

Huckabee is doing the zealot equivalent of shouting “fire” in a theater. I’d say “shame on him” but he has none.

I think I’d believe the Vatican spox before Huckajesus. Either he’s repeating a lie told by Davis or he’s creating his own fantasy. Either way, I think this pope is clearly not being controlled by any “elitist” faction. Talibaggers ALWAYS have to construct some incredible circumstance or conspriracy to explain their actions and reactions. It’s amazing how gullible their believers are.

What Huckabee hopes people don’t notice is that the Vatican felt compelled to set the record straight after hearing how Davis and her people were blowing up the meeting as much bigger than it was. And apparently Davis is still spreading bull about it.

The Vatican says, “Pope Francis met with several dozen persons who had been invited by the Nunciature to greet him as he prepared to leave Washington for New York City. Such brief greetings occur on all papal visits and are due to the Pope’s characteristic kindness and availability. The only real audience granted by the Pope at the Nunciature was with one of his former students and his family.

“The Pope did not enter into the details of the situation of Mrs. Davis and his meeting with her should not be considered a form of support of her position in all of its particular and complex aspects.”

Doesn’t sound like Huck is telling the truth about the “15 minute meeting with just the two of them.” Also, if the Huckster refers to Vatican spokespeople as “elitist”, wouldn’t it be interesting to see how he’d label someone even more elite in the Vatican? Like the Pope?

Nobody’s trying to “criminalize” Christianity, ya whining crybaby. But whatever you’ve turned it into should be a crime.

Huckajebus is funny….the criminalization of Christianity.
Only the craziest zealot in the world could come up with that.

    • Hirightnow October 7th, 2015 at 20:51

He’s projecting; he’d like to see the criminalization of Islam, but he knows full well where it would lead.

      • Mike October 7th, 2015 at 21:02

I’m not so sure he understands that…he wants a theocracy here, but condemns places like Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan…short answer…he’s an idiot, plain and simple.

        • The Original Just Me October 7th, 2015 at 22:41

          Short answer ” IDIOT “.

The competition for that award is pretty darn crowed but I do believe Huck-a-brain is high in the running.

  11. Budda October 7th, 2015 at 20:48

  12. Suzanne McFly October 7th, 2015 at 20:51

Oh huckster, if you only had a brain….

  13. The Original Just Me October 7th, 2015 at 21:06

My, the story is changing isn’t it. How Huck-his-brain says it was just a private meeting between the Pope and Davis. It has always been a meeting between the Pope and Davis and her husband. Is just shows this whole thing was a Sham.

  14. Foundryman October 7th, 2015 at 21:10

The pope should apologize for allowing himself to be used as a tool by a group of far right anti-catholic religious fanatics of which Davis and Huckelberry are a part of. And then soundly condemn them both for being hate mongering liars.

  15. 4barbara4 October 7th, 2015 at 21:56

HE DID NOT KNOW THE OLD BAG OR WHO SHE WAS THERE WAS NO PRIVATE MEETING OF THE POPE WITH THE BAG.

  16. The Original Just Me October 7th, 2015 at 22:36

And a huge fist with a pointing finger came down out of the clouds in the Heavens and it pointed directly at Huckabee. Then a Booming voice shouted; “YOU’RE FIRED ! “

  17. CandideThirtythree October 7th, 2015 at 23:18

He fired the right wing asshole who invited that pimple on a goat’s ass to the hand shaking line.

She lied out her ass and the Huckster was right there lapping it up.

  18. granpa.usthai October 7th, 2015 at 23:32

I don’t think the Catholic Church would do well allowing the Huckster to run their organization.

The Pope was duped into meeting with this ADULTEROUS HYPOCRITE to begin with.

It’s good that their are those around the Pope who are looking out for the interest of the Catholic Church instead of falling once again for the fascist lies of perdition.

or taking advice from a modern day poltergeisting pulpit panhandler that takes dancing lessons in Airport restroom stalls.

    • Judgeforyourself37 October 8th, 2015 at 20:06

Actually, the Pope did not meet with Ms. Davis, it was a group meeting, and he did not know who she was, as she was in a group of many others, and he said to the group, “Stay Strong.” Kim Davis is full of that stuff you find in a cow pasture and I do not mean the grass.

  19. Warman1138 October 8th, 2015 at 00:10

Huckabee should fire his brain, it’s not doing what It was paid to do……work.

  20. bpollen October 8th, 2015 at 03:34

I’m sure the Pope is dying to take the advice of a Pastor from the First Church of Where The Flock Am I.
