Brady Campaign: Oregon Sheriff Must ‘Immediately Resign’ For ‘Extremist’ Gun Views
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence is calling for Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin to step down.
“Citizens of Oregon voted for the expansion of Brady background checks in a law signed by Governor Brown this past May,” Brady Campaign President Dan Gross noted in a statement over the weekend. “In pledging not to enforce the new law, John Hanlin has clearly demonstrated that his political ideology trumps his responsibility to protect his community. The victims of last week’s shooting and the entire community deserve a thorough investigation that will get to the bottom of this heinous crime – an investigation that must be grounded in facts and evidence, not myth and bias.”
We already know Sheriff Hanlin is on record as refusing to enforce gun laws he doesn’t agree with, and has shown sympathy for those who believe Sandy Hook was a false flag operation.

Resign for standing up for the Constitution? I don’t think so. How about some of those elected officials who constantly seek to limit our 2nd Amendment rights resigning? I think that would be much more appropriate.

No, resign for refusing to do his job. And the second amendment only covers the National Guard. According to a SCOTUS decision in the 30s they are the ONLY well regulated militia. So now you’ve learned something, tell it to your other ignorant compadres.

But I don’t remember him getting the power determine what the constitutionality of any freaking issue is. That is, and always has been, the province of the court. Sheriffs simply enforce the laws. Constitutionality is determined by the courts.

you guys and the 2nd amendment , not any wants to take guns hell most dems I know own guns [ myself], 2nd doesn’t say the right to own ar’s m16’s, 50-cal. , any automatic military style weapons or 100rd clips , we want ban on huge clips and background loopholes closed , I went to a gun show ,every vendor inside had to do a check ,I went outside in parking lot and at a vendors table every guy in the one who flew over the cuckoos nest could’ve bought a gun without a background check ,not making fun just stating a fact ,they would’ve sold anyone a gun ! close loopholes and ban any clip over 15 !

After reading and seeing the CNN Story about this sheriff HANLIN (R) and the Sandy Hook Tragedy along with his own letter to Vice President Biden, he should be relived of his duties immediately! The really sad part, is that this current tragedy happened on his own turf , and maybe sheriff HANLIN (R) now has “blood on his hands” because of his obvious twisted beliefs. How about this sheriff HANLIN having a Mental Health CHECK-UP, because it is very obvious he may be suffering from that well known republican symptom of “Bats in the Rafters”, by his beliefs!
