Tennessee Resolution Begs God To Spare County ‘His Coming Wrath’

Posted by | October 4, 2015 12:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

The Blount County, Tennessee Board of Commissioners will consider a resolution asking God to spare them “his coming wrath” because they’re being forced to recognize gay marriage.

The proposal has been put forth by Commissioner Karen Miller and is listed on the docket as “Resolution condemning judicial tyranny and petitioning God’s mercy. (Resolution 15-10-006)”

The resolution begins: “Whereas, the Governor, Attorney General, and ALL WE Blount County Legislators have sworn an oath consistent with the moral Law of God (“So Help Me God”) to uphold the Constitution of Tennessee and the Constitution of the United States; and Whereas, the fulfillment of this oath, in the American tradition, may not be read to contradict the written Constitution, Justice, Reason and higher Natural Law…” before turning to Commissioner Miller’s grievances.

“Federal judges have once again usurped powers not delegated to them, and have violated Reason, the Rule of Law and Natural Law by purporting to strike down State laws and acts of the People recognizing and protecting Natural Marriage,” it states by way of explaining that Miller believes the Supreme Court overstepped its bounds by legalizing same-sex marriage.

Miller’s resolution calls upon “all of the Officers of the State of Tennessee, the Governor, the Attorney General, and the members of the Tennessee Legislature,” to  join the commission in saving “natural marriage,” and defending “the the Moral Standards of Tennessee.”

Fearing that may be too little too late, the passed resolution would also beseech God to not destroy Blount County — like He did Sodom and Gomorrah — for the sins of America.

OOPSY, seems god has sent a biblical flood on the Carolinas for their loud, hypocritical condemnation and bigotry against equality.

    • granpa.usthai October 5th, 2015 at 00:11

a flood for some is a time to dance around butt naked in the cold piercing rain for others!!!

…where does Alan keep the dry towels @ LL?

Conservative majority SCOTUS upheld the 10th and 14th ‘equal marriage’ Amendments equally conveying 2,000+ Federal benefits nationally.

Riiiiight, if God was going to destroy parts of the world I seriously doubt she would have any concern what the local lawyers have drafted up to prevent the wrath. How don’t these constituents see through this pathetic gesture? Do they really feel safer with this proposal? If my local politicians wasted time doing this crap, I would be pissed. They are paid handsomely to shaft these idiots and they are not doing what there job requires from them. They are scamming the public and doing so with great assistance from this very same public.

There is no wrath of God. Only Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan!
From Hell’s heart, I stab at thee; For hate’s sake, I spit my last breath at thee. (Hell doesn’t exist either.)

If God disliked homosexuals, than why doesn’t he wipe out where they live? He seems to throw a lot of natural disasters at the religious people and not at the honosexuals.

    • whatthe46 October 4th, 2015 at 19:06

      BOOM!

    • Dwendt44 October 5th, 2015 at 00:50

OR just as curious, why does he continue to make homosexuals at all?

      • whatthe46 October 5th, 2015 at 01:11

i keep sayin’ the only way that we won’t have “homos” in the world again, is for hetros to stop procreating. STOP giving birth to them. otherwise, oh well.

Didn’t he do that with the Great Flood. I thought that was for cleansing the earth of Unholy ones.

Ah, sweet jesus. It’s like they’ve never read their own bible. They were punished for their behavior but any homosexuality is is more a of a by-product, an indirect issue. JC was pissed because:

They neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him.

Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

They gave in to their sinful desires of their darkened hearts, engaging in sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. In the form of rape, it just didn’t matter the gender.

They became filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They were full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They were gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invented ways of doing evil; they disobeyed their parents; they had no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they knew God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continued to do these very things but also approved of others that practiced them.

    • granpa.usthai October 5th, 2015 at 00:04

nice short essay of the Republican Party, but what about gays destroying their America by committing their lives to one another?

  10. Buford2k11 October 4th, 2015 at 18:53

It seems that God missed Tennessee and hit South Carolina with a little moisture…they have been pretty mean, rotten and nasty towards the other of God’s children, it doesn’t matter if they are gay, lesbian, brown, black, disabled, and on down the list of whom these gop/christians have been persecuting…Don’t worry Tennessee, He will get back to ya for doing the same evil unto HIS other children…if’n that’s what you wanna believe…

God is cool with Iowa having allowed gay marriage for THE PAST SIX YEARS.

They might wanna include a “please forgive us, Hulk!” clause to be safe from imaginary beings. Beware the wrath of Thor and Harry Potter! Quake at the anger of The Cat In The Hat!

    • The Original Just Me October 5th, 2015 at 00:44

Oh, Cat In The Hat, that is a BAD ONE.

    Ezekiel 16:49

BEHOLD! – this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, PRIDE, (wearing of MIXED FIBERS) fulness of bread (OVERWEIGHT EATERS) and abundance of idleness was in her and her daughters (NOT DOING THE WORK YOU’RE GETTING A PAYCHECK FOR) neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. (GREED GREED GREED!).

    Ezekiel 16:50

AND they were haughty (RELIGIOUS CONVICTIONS?), and committed abominations before me (WEARING MIXED FIBERS – AGAIN!!!): therefore I took them away as I saw good.

As one who fully qualifies as a
    PROPHET
    OF
    GOD
(sun rise east, set in west)

I’d say have everybody strip down BUTT NAKED from here on out – just as a show of faith and a little buffer for the big court day! Can’t make a case of the WEARING MIXED FIBERS ABOMINATION stick if you ain’t wearing anything!!! (why else would we all be standing before him naked?).

my last pay check was $7559 working 8 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 16k for months now and she works about 18 hours a week. I can’t believe how easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do…
