Pope Francis Met Secretly With Kim Davis

Posted by | September 29, 2015 20:50 | Filed under: Politics Religion

Now that we know Pope Francis met with and gave aid and comfort to anti-gay Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, the right may start liking her again.

Pope Francis met secretly with Rowan County, Kentucky, clerk Kim Davis during his visit to the United States, according to her attorneys and Inside the Vatican magazine.

Davis was jailed after refusing to follow a federal court order to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. She had refused to issue any licenses after the U.S. Supreme Court legalized gay marriage, citing her religious beliefs.

The meeting occurred on September 24. Her husband, Joe, was also at the meeting, the Liberty Council said.

The meeting took place at the Vatican Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Nothing like slamming your hosts and meeting with that homophobic cow

    • whatthe46 September 29th, 2015 at 21:24

and she left still a bitch. so what was the point?

    • KillAllTheRednecks . September 29th, 2015 at 21:44

I wonder if her husband wore his best hillbilly overalls for the occasion? You know, the ones that don’t have much pigsh*t on them.

      • tracey marie September 29th, 2015 at 22:35

Turns out it is all a lie

        • The Original Just Me September 29th, 2015 at 22:55

Well, that works. It started out as a Lie.

        • whatthe46 September 29th, 2015 at 23:16

that makes so much more sense.

  3. Obewon September 29th, 2015 at 21:25

‘Hypocrite Kim Davis you are going to burn in Hell throughout eternity!’-The Holy See!

  4. Foundryman September 29th, 2015 at 21:30

It’s sad he would allow himself to be used that way. A secret meeting with her? Someone who is promoting divisiveness, discrimination and hate? Here I thought he was all about peace, love and redemption.

    • fredoandme September 29th, 2015 at 23:25

      well. the more you know…

    • Robert Smithson September 30th, 2015 at 10:43

He is against sinful behavior. Gays are accepted (loved) by the Catholic Church, they just have to repent ( receive redemption) and remain celibate.

      • JCF October 1st, 2015 at 04:41

Coerced celibacy is the FARTHEST thing from love&acceptance. If you can’t see that, your moral compass is BROKEN.

      • SecludedCompound October 2nd, 2015 at 13:06

You guys have a strange way of showing your love for people, since it looks exactly like hating them.

  5. jybarz September 29th, 2015 at 21:31

I’m sure no miracle can save this bitch from going to hell.

    • The Original Just Me September 29th, 2015 at 21:38

I don’t think she is going to Hell. I think came from Hell.

      • whatthe46 September 29th, 2015 at 21:40

        i can agree with that.

  6. Gina Bousquet September 29th, 2015 at 21:34

    That was really silly!

    • whatthe46 September 29th, 2015 at 21:42

he should have just gone to a prison. there’s lots of law breakers that who could use his comfort. at least most realize the errors of their ways. oy vey.

    • The Original Just Me September 29th, 2015 at 22:53

Give this a chew on. They are of very different Religions.

    • rg9rts September 30th, 2015 at 03:47

      Where have you been ?¿

  7. amersham46 September 29th, 2015 at 21:38

Questionable claim, too many people around him

  8. The Original Just Me September 29th, 2015 at 21:38

IF, and that is a mighty BIG IF, he met with her, it makes lot of sense that he met her in private. The Pope could never stand out in Public and say ; ” Shut the f**up ! ” If, there was a meeting, you know she would be all over the news with it. That”s how she is. Just more NAZI Propaganda.

  9. KillAllTheRednecks . September 29th, 2015 at 21:43

Francis seemed to be a nice guy, and then I was reminded that he’s the Pope, after all.

  10. katkelly57 September 29th, 2015 at 22:10

I question the meeting as well….she would not be able to keep her cake hole closed…she’d be gloating all over the place.

I also don’t believe the Pope or his staff would single her out for any type of encounter.

    • The Original Just Me September 29th, 2015 at 22:52

A close examination of both of their schedules is in order. But, I am sure that would reveal nothing remotely possible.

    • Gina Bousquet September 30th, 2015 at 13:27

Confirmed by the Vatican, it seems. Met at the Vatican Embassy in Washington.

  11. William September 29th, 2015 at 22:26

    Uncanny.

    • The Original Just Me September 29th, 2015 at 22:49

      I love your illustrations.

    • whatthe46 September 29th, 2015 at 23:13

      damn dude you’re awesome!

    • rg9rts September 30th, 2015 at 03:47

      DAMN MY EX!~!!!!!!!!!!

    • Robert Smithson September 30th, 2015 at 10:39

Why do you hate women so much?

      • William September 30th, 2015 at 12:09

I don’t I do hate people who break the law then hide behind their Bible. If the trailer park drama queen was fundamental Muslim and refused to issue drivers licenses to women would you still defend her?
Nobody is telling her to violate her conscience. She can simply quit.

      • tracey marie September 30th, 2015 at 15:51

Not women, just hypocritical faux xtians, stop trolling

  12. tracey marie September 29th, 2015 at 22:34

The magazine in question is an online site that is run by an american journalist. Their site is not accessible at this time. He is a cathloic with an opinion blog, nothing official. It is a lie.

    • The Original Just Me September 29th, 2015 at 22:48

      No Doubt.

      • tracey marie September 29th, 2015 at 22:52

I got in. He said kim told him of the meeting right after he left congress.

        • The Original Just Me September 29th, 2015 at 23:02

So, we have a He said, She said thing going on here.

  13. ExPFCWintergreen September 29th, 2015 at 22:52

These same people claimed that 100,000 Peruvians (!) showed up at a mass prayer rally for this caterwauling wingnut, were busted on it by ThinkProgress, and STILL claimed “it’s true! really! we swear!” When they were doubly busted, they blamed someone else for the “misunderstanding.” http://thinkprogress.org/lgbt/2015/09/29/3706790/liberty-counsel-kim-davis-retraction/

    • whatthe46 September 29th, 2015 at 23:17

well for fk’s sake! will they stop at nothing. damn.

    • Stan Ubeki September 30th, 2015 at 06:50

Yep, Judge Judy would make mince meat out of the whole crew.

  14. nola878 September 30th, 2015 at 00:26

Uh huh. Sure. Sounds like a great big Fio…short for Fiorina, new term for huge lie.

  15. Dwendt44 September 30th, 2015 at 00:54

Right wing nut jobs think Catholics are devil worshipers, so I’m sure they ignored any advice the Pope gave. That’s IF the meeting actually happened.

    • whatthe46 September 30th, 2015 at 01:01

once tracey said she found that this wasn’t true, it made sense. i had it in the back of my mind, why? why on earth would she be given a private meeting. yet i still replied to the article with, “and?” is if to say it happened and so what. but, the why never really made any sense.

  16. fahvel September 30th, 2015 at 03:28

if it’s true, the Pope should be ashamed for giving this person any kind of solace or, maybe, pain.

    • lynchie September 30th, 2015 at 08:38

Hey he hasn’t expelled any of those pedophile priests so this is no surprise. His whole shtick to raise more money for the church. I haven’t seen the church open its coffers to help the sick and starving. They have however spent millions paying for lawyers, bribes to prosecutors and cops and paying off families to keep the rape of young boys on the down low. Just another fund raiser trip to america and we feel good because he called out the corporations, who frankly don;t give a rat’s ass what he says. Back to rome with a plane full of cash from the rubes. He is no better than Robertson or Osteen got have that money

      • Carla Akins September 30th, 2015 at 12:19

That is not entirely true – but I agree that he hasn’t done enough. Personally I would take him more seriously if he divested the church of their wealth.

  17. rg9rts September 30th, 2015 at 03:45

Wonder how he feels about violating a sworn oath??

My last pay check was $8626
working 10 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 17k for
months now and she works about 19 hours a week.
    I can’t
believe how easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do…

My opinion of the Pope just went down.

    • Mann T. September 30th, 2015 at 07:56

      Ditto.

    • Robert Smithson September 30th, 2015 at 10:38

Awwwww, you don’t like him anymore? The fact is this Pope has always been for traditional male/female marriages and against anything else. He also stands tall for the resect of human life at all it’s stages. You liberals were kidding yourselves if you thought otherwise.

      • Budda September 30th, 2015 at 11:05

Awwwww, too bad you have poor reading skills. “Opinion went down” doesn’t translate to; “don’t like him anymore”.

      • arc99 September 30th, 2015 at 11:08

The fact is this Pope has never been for using the power of the state to deny equality to gay people. You right wingers are kidding yourselves if you thought otherwise.

In a 2013 interview by a Lithuanian news organization, the pope made lots of right wing heads explode.

        http://www.codewit.com/north-america/12887-pope-francis-says-he-supports-gay-marriage

“We have learned much about homosexuality in recent years,” he told a reporter aboard the papal jet. “We now know that being gay isn’t a choice, but something one is born with. If our Lord decides that someone should come into this world a certain way, who are we to judge his choice?

        • Robert Smithson September 30th, 2015 at 11:32

But in a sense he does judge gay people as he would refuse the sacraments to a gay person if they were not celibate.

          • Carla Akins September 30th, 2015 at 12:18

The difference is that the Pope is not an elected public official. Unless you are Catholic, I fail to understand how the Pope’s opinion on anything is relevant – with the exception that he wields influence among some. I can appreciate that his general message is one of tolerance and compassion but we don’t live in Vatican City.

      • tracey marie September 30th, 2015 at 22:01

“who am I to judge” pope on GLBT people

  20. Anomaly 100 September 30th, 2015 at 08:09

A funny thing happened when he met with Kim Davis.
