Huckabee: If I’m President I’ll Ignore Supreme Court

Posted by | September 29, 2015 18:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Mike Huckabee vows to ignore the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage if he’s president. Luckily, he will never be president.

In an interview on American Family Radio on Friday, GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee denounced the Supreme Court’s marriage equality ruling as “illegal” and “unconstitutional,” insisting that if he is elected president, his administration will not recognize such a ruling.

“It is not the law of the land because it has not been affirmed by the people’s representatives,” Huckabee said, seemingly unaware of the concept of judicial review. “There is nothing in the Constitution that gives the Supreme Court the authority to decide what states should do about marriage. Nothing.”

And if I’m president, I will make you do the worst thing you could ever imagine: Marry one of those icky gay men. And then you’d be doomed to everlasting flames of hell. But you’d have a helluva good time along the way. Now, which one do you think has a better chance of happening, Huck? Quit living in that parallel universe where you get to be president.

secret same sex reproduction, usually initiated on European Vacations or an Airport Restroom Dance-a-thon.

  5. Mike September 29th, 2015 at 18:26

Huckafuck still doesn’t understand the 3 branches can each create law..
    Statutory law – Legislative
    Administrative Law – Executive
    Constitutional Law – Judicial
Only Statutory Law needs to be “…affirmed by the people’s representatives…” Any 1L could tell you that…

    • StoneyCurtisll September 29th, 2015 at 19:24

      Lay off the facts…

Huckabee will be dropping out of the GOP primary within the next month..
The Huck is so off the charts, he makes Rand Paul look like a viable candidate.

    • whatthe46 September 29th, 2015 at 19:41

don’t say viable. gives me the chills when referring to any of those bastards.

    • The Original Just Me September 29th, 2015 at 21:45

Huck is sooo far down in public opinion that he adds more plus points to the up scale.

  8. NW10,PATRIOT! ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ September 29th, 2015 at 19:37

      and convicted

  9. arc99 September 29th, 2015 at 19:42

Nothing in the Constitution about the Supreme Court having the power to halt the counting of votes in Florida in November 2000 either.

    Just sayin…

  10. The Original Just Me September 29th, 2015 at 21:43

Hey, he ignores the Supreme Court and We ignore him. All things balance in Nature .

  11. Chris September 29th, 2015 at 21:44

This is either the most extreme pandering the Huck has shown,
    or he is extremely ignorant.

    Or maybe both.

  12. Lyndia September 30th, 2015 at 03:00

The Supreme Court, is the law of the land. Stupid man, stupid, indeed.

  13. Frank Foster September 30th, 2015 at 03:15

    So I guess when he’s sworn in he’ll cross his fingers…oh Huck-n-jive, just quit…now

  14. rg9rts September 30th, 2015 at 03:42

He would be impeached, convicted, and sentenced in the first week

  15. bpollen September 30th, 2015 at 05:10

Another muddahfuggah who won’t hesitate to violate oaths to that Gawd they talk about so much. Liar, oath-breaker, commandment-breaker, and claiming you are doing it FOR Gawd. According to Dante Alighieri, he’s destined for the 8th circle of hell. It’ll be like a hot and huge Republican National Convention. From hell! With Kim Davis as the designated adulterous stripper.

  16. Jodie September 30th, 2015 at 09:24

Oh, good grief. How can anyone that would admit to willingly defying the most supreme court of our country ever become president. Huckabee, I’m afraid if you want to live in a country where religious beliefs are forced on the public, you need to find a home in the middle east. I seriously hope a rational democrat will take office, because I can’t deal with a conservative d-bag forcing their religious dogma on the public.

  17. Böcker September 30th, 2015 at 09:34

My guess hell would freeze over before Huckabee becomes President.

  18. Elliot J. Stamler September 30th, 2015 at 13:42

He is a worthy successor to Ark. Gov. Orval Faubus who called out troops to prevent school desegregation forcing Pres. Eisenhower to federalize the National Guard to get the court orders enforced. I lived through those times. I don’t think Huckabee will ever be elected but if he were and did what he says he would he would induce the greatest constitutional battle imaginable with an undoubted impeachment resolution in the House. I am not surprised at his statement – I am not surprised at any of the statements that he, Jindal, Cruz, and Santorum make along this line because….as I have commented before; THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT CONSERVATIVES..THEY ARE AMERICAN FASCISTS PRETENDING TO BE CONSERVATIVES AND ARE OUT TO DESTROY POLITICAL DEMOCRACY AND THE BILL OF RIGHTS. That is no exaggeration. Anyone who says such constitutional nonsense as Huckabee has said has no regard whatever for the rule of law. Such a person might well imitate Hitler and demand within months of his inauguration, passage of an “Enabling Act” which he might even get from a very conservative Republican congress…just as Hitler did within 3 months of his appointment as German chancellor. THESE PEOPLE MEAN BUSINESS. We are, I again write, lurching toward a second civil war.

  19. granpa.usthai October 1st, 2015 at 23:48

wrong again, Huckie. According to the US Constitution (the one you’ll have to take a sacred oath to uphold and defend) ALL CITIZENS HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS.

your ‘personal’ religious beliefs are of no more importance than any other POTUS, even if they were a Quaker from California.
