Values Voter Summit Awards Kim Davis For Breaking The Law

Posted by | September 26, 2015 12:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Kentucky anti-gay clerk Kim Davis was given an award at the Value Voters Summit for her law-breaking.

Tony Perkins, of the Family Research Council, presented Davis with a “Cost of Discipleship Award” that compared her with Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and Abraham Lincoln because, like them, she “pursued justice at great personal cost.”

“In today’s conflict over the meaning of the irreplaceable civil institution of marriage, one elected official, Kimberly Davis of Rowan County, Kentucky, has inspired millions of her fellow Americans,” Perkins said, reading aloud from her award. “As her words and actions attest, she has proceeded with an unshakeable blend of humility and determination. In doing so, she has reminded us we must remember to kneel before we dare stand.”

Davis got several standing ovations as she stood on stage. She cried each time, and received a bouquet of flowers as Perkins read the text of the award.

“I feel so very undeserving,” Davis said, choking up. “I want to start by thanking my lord and my savior Jesus Christ. Because without him, this would never have been possible. For he is my strength that carries me.”

They should rename it the white trash summit if they were capable of ever telling the truth.

  2. Larry Schmitt September 26th, 2015 at 12:16

Because Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and Abraham Lincoln tried to deprive people of their rights.

After all their “this lawless president” crap, the GOTP & far-right faction of Gawd’s Holy Warriors are rewarding the willful refusal to obey the highest court in the land, refusal to carry out the sworn duties of an elected official, and promote bigotry & intolerance, as they seek to impose their own version of Christian Sharia Law on an unwilling public?

OK, I think I got it!

    • granpa.usthai September 27th, 2015 at 03:38

don’t forget the altering of official documents!

most non Konservative Kristians are sent off to ‘REAL’ prison for stuff like that.

  7. Mike September 26th, 2015 at 16:34

Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and Abraham Lincoln “pursued justice at great personal cost.” while they were fighting for the rights others were being denied. Kim Davis is merely fighting to deny others the rights she enjoyed…4 times (and counting)

    • granpa.usthai September 27th, 2015 at 03:37

you get a big Hallelujah for that bit of TRUTH!

  8. CandideThirtythree September 26th, 2015 at 16:54

There is true evil in the world and a big chunk of it was at that hatefest summit.

  9. Tommie September 26th, 2015 at 20:13

I thought we are a country of laws and that ALL laws are to be followed, unless it is something the right doesn’t like, learn something new everyday!

…or you’re a Nevada cow farmer who does WTF they want.

Freedom and Liberty just took several steps backwards

    • granpa.usthai September 27th, 2015 at 03:32

it’s a private tax subsidized program run by religious thugs. they have a right to honor criminals why openly violate federal law when they want. Hopefully, the ACLU will stay on Davis and encourage those whose civil rights she openly violates to pursue legal actions against her, Rowan County and the State of Kentucky for HUGE compensations.

Take away her Bible and you have a female version of “Joe the Plumber”.

  12. jybarz September 27th, 2015 at 03:01

    Unbelievable!
Right wing nuts are always on the wrong side of everything.
    Why????

  13. granpa.usthai September 27th, 2015 at 03:47

just don’t see anything at all that she has in common with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks or Abraham Lincoln.

None of them were married 4 times in Konservative Kristian Matrimony with numerous benefits that are accorded to legally married spouses, and none of them were near as hefty as Kim.

    • Larry Schmitt September 27th, 2015 at 07:55

And none of them were trying to take people’s rights away.
