Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who gained media attention earlier this month after she refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, blamed Governor Steve Beshear for her legal troubles in court documents filed Thursday. Sorry, Davis, your own refusal to do the job you were elected to do is what landed you in jail. And why aren’t you there again? You still don’t seem willing to do what you’re being paid to do.

She makes $80,000/year. How much are the teachers paid? How much are the firefighters paid? Imagine what would happen if they decide to not do part of their jobs.

      • Larry Schmitt September 25th, 2015 at 10:35

And she is essentially a paper pusher, while teachers actually produce something.

      • Roctuna September 25th, 2015 at 11:04

And do you know why she makes $80k? Her previous job was assistant to her Mom who was county clerk. One of the early bio articles mentioned this. Mom got to set the salary for the position which was coming up in the election Davis won.

And did the public even bat an eye at this obvious corruption? Of course not but don’t mention Hillary’s emails, people’s hair automatically go up in flames.

And while her mother was the Chief Clerk, good ‘ole Kim was sucking up the overtime; though I don’t see where any overtime would come into the picture in an office that’s open 8:30–4:30 five days a week. A total of over $11,000 as I recall.

      • granpa.usthai September 25th, 2015 at 15:49

yea, but Kimbie is no longer a part of THIS world –
        uh –
        except for the paycheck stuff.

      • BigDumbWhiteGuy September 25th, 2015 at 21:01

Elementary and secondary school teachers in KY make substantially less than Kim Davis, on average. Hell, physics professors in KY make less, on average, than Kim Davis does. There ought to be a law.

        • whatthe46 September 25th, 2015 at 21:07

and all she needed was a home shooling and mommy.

          • BigDumbWhiteGuy September 25th, 2015 at 22:07

I mean, seriously. Are there any educational or work history requirements to be a county clerk? It’s an elected position, so any dumb*ss can run (see GOP clown car), and about the only thing that seems to be required is to scribble your name on a piece of paper and stick it in a file cabinet. And she doesn’t even want to do that!

my husband was an LMSW, masters in social work, and he made just under that, but it took years and promotions. worked with mentally ill children and adults and on call at night. then you’ve got this bitch. waste of money.

I am getting my Masters in Education in Connecticut (you can’t teach unless you are going for your Masters), and I can tell you the only ones making $80,000/yr here is admin and some college professors. Connecticut has a much higher standard of living than Kentucky, she is robbing her district blind.

    Blame YOUR god…its more plausible

  3. whatthe46 September 25th, 2015 at 09:09

why is it that all these people who call themselves “christians” always lay blame upon others for their own misdeeds? either that or make excuses for it or both. it’s passed irritating.

    • Anomaly 100 September 25th, 2015 at 09:27

We should send her some bootstraps.

      • whatthe46 September 25th, 2015 at 09:37

        there you go.

      • tracey marie September 25th, 2015 at 11:05

and a bible, maybe she can figure out which one of her 4 marriages is the holy one.

  4. allison1050 September 25th, 2015 at 09:43

There nothing quite like that good old fashioned “taking personal responsibility” stuff.

    • Larry Schmitt September 25th, 2015 at 10:36

The only part of that they understand is the “taking.”

  5. Budda September 25th, 2015 at 10:22

Who cares what this fool thinks?

  6. William September 25th, 2015 at 10:47

The martyr card isn’t going to work either.

    • Larry Schmitt September 25th, 2015 at 10:49

      But, but, Christian persecution!

      • granpa.usthai September 25th, 2015 at 15:46

        it’s PROSECUTION
        not persecution
and it ain’t the same thing.

        • Larry Schmitt September 25th, 2015 at 17:00

From their point of view, it’s persecution, and there isn’t enough prosecution being done.

    • Larry Schmitt September 25th, 2015 at 10:51

      That facial expression is perfect.

      • William September 25th, 2015 at 11:09

The expression on the seated woman. IE, the moment you realize your coworker is crazy.

  7. tracey marie September 25th, 2015 at 11:04

I will assume that kim and the rest of the evangelicals would be fine with President Obama banning marriages for evangelicals married more then once, amIright?

    • Larry Schmitt September 25th, 2015 at 11:20

Wait, since he’s a Muslim, wouldn’t that be Sharia law?

  8. Carla Akins September 25th, 2015 at 11:20

Civil disobedience is a thing, and for it to be meaningful it should be difficult, it should be a sacrifice and there must be punishment. In fact, it’s the whole point – I stole this, but it’s what I would have said. “one who contemplates civil disobedience out of moral conviction should not be surprised and must not be bitter if a criminal conviction ensues. And he must accept the fact that organized society cannot endure on any other basis.”

    • Larry Schmitt September 25th, 2015 at 11:23

But other forms of civil disobedience don’t set out to deprive others of their rights, but to ensure the rights of others. The Civil Rights demonstrations of the 50’s and 60’s were to ensure the right for people to vote, attend schools, etc. These people only want to take rights away from someone they find icky.

      • Carla Akins September 25th, 2015 at 11:27

You’re right, regardless she should know it’s her responsibility alone and she should fully expect to punished. No matter the legitimacy of the cause, if you aren’t really prepared to “pay the price” then it was never that important to you.

        • bpollen September 26th, 2015 at 05:12

Virtue is meaningless without any sacrifice. Courage is meaningless without risk. Kim Davis is meaningless without her power of office.

  9. granpa.usthai September 25th, 2015 at 15:58

    next time be more Christ-like.
Submit yourself to the higher authorities for they are ordained of the God that Jesus called Heavenly Father.
Oh, and even if this world (that you are no longer a part of except for the paycheck stuff) becomes grossed out offended – STOP WEARING MIXED FIBERS!
that’s an ABOMINATION as clearly written out (though not in the top 10 – like, ADULTERY for one) as apparently it’s AOK to EAT CHILDREN when hungry.

  10. rg9rts September 25th, 2015 at 16:50

LMAO!!!!!! SHE IS NOW A REPUBLICAN LOL

    • whatthe46 September 25th, 2015 at 21:13

      that trick always was.

    • cwazycajun September 26th, 2015 at 10:46

well then she is in good or bad company which ever way ya wanna define the ignorant religious white trash party

  11. amersham46 September 25th, 2015 at 19:32

Well she could get a job at Chick a Fil , vetting customers for acceptable religious practices

  12. cecilia September 25th, 2015 at 19:50

So let me get this straight, Kentucky has 120 county clerks. And only ONE moron wants to break the law?

    • cwazycajun September 26th, 2015 at 10:44

actually two morans want ot break the law her son is also a county clerk and is standing behind her..skirt and wont issue marriage licenses either

      • cecilia September 26th, 2015 at 11:35

yes, I know about him. As he’s basically a mama’s boy I kinda ignored him :)

The judge (I’m guessing) let him (sonnyboy) slide because he didn’t want to force a kid to have a family argument in public. Plus, as long as the other clerks in that office ARE issuing licences it really doesn’t impact the public.

  13. BigDumbWhiteGuy September 25th, 2015 at 20:58

Enforcing the law is the job of the chief executive. In this case it’s Governor Beshear enforcing the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, under which same-sex couples are now legally eligible to be married.
Also too, if your religious beliefs won’t allow you to faithfully execute the duties of your position, then you need to make a choice. Obviously Kim Davis doesn’t need to be the country clerk in Rowan County, as I’m sure the wingnut welfare machine is just itching to take care of her every need and reinforce her victimhood status.
    P.S. “Religious clerks” GTFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • whatthe46 September 25th, 2015 at 21:09

i clicked up 10 times. but it only stayed blue once. sorry.

  14. crc3 September 25th, 2015 at 23:21

I bet she packs a pistol in her hollowed out Bible. That goes along with her racist and prejudiced beliefs and actions. She’s nothing but white trash with a title….

  15. liberalMD September 26th, 2015 at 08:10

Blame yourself, Kim Davis!!! You were the one that defied the government and broke the law.
